I remember when my teacher made me wrote a letter to a penpal from a different school. I thought it was cool. But now I think it's really stupid and waste of a time.

I wouldn't being someone's penpal somebody, but I can't do cursive, and I am rather bad at handwriting. I also can't read cursive due to the lack of education for disabled people in my school system. Which is.... unfortunate. Nevertheless I wouldn't mind being a penpal.

I'm a patient person, usually. Unless I'm forced and prodded by impatient people I remain patient. I do worry alot though, so impatience might also come from that. Penpals require patience, and I do have to say penpals have become impractical with the rise of the internet. Still it can be practical if one of the parties don't have internet capabilities. 9Doesn't live near a library, doesn't own one, etcetera).

I would love to have a pen pal... preferably in a different country so that I could learn their customs/culture. I would rather do it on my own though, because when school forces it upon you, your emotions start to lack -_- it seems more as homework. Either way, you are lucky if you had a penpal, I only had a "little brother" but I never got to see him. :/

My French teacher tried to have us do that, but it really didn't work out so well because the other school never really responded.

Having a penpal sounds great!
I tried getting two other penpals from other familiar forums,
but they never wrote me :(

Perhaps in a different country or vastly different environment, like California. [I'm in the midwest]

It seems as though, though, most people in the US have penpals in the US lol~

I guess it's cause US is quite big!

I never had a penpal, but I try to appreciate the online people I talk to. Writing letters and all that always seemed a little tedious even if the receiver can see it as much more personal than words strung together on a keyboard. Although I think it may have been fun if I tried it I think technology has made me lose my patience. I don't think I can find waiting for the next reply to be fun in the world of instant messaging

I was suppose to have a penpal, but then I lost her address the next two minutes I received it. LOL What? I was only 6.

Assuming you mean full foreigners, I only talk to non-English foreigners online. Currently, I'm talking to 2 Germans (one in broken German, the other in half German half English), a Russian (in English), and some Mexican friends (in Spanglish) On the pro side, they help me with lingualism, though the full-German does laugh at my German a lot x( The Rusky's really nice, though, and helps me learn Russian. He says Russian mail is very slow, so emailing is much more efficient.

Also talking to some Brits, but can't really think of them as penpals so much as non-Americans :<

3D mail is sooooo overrated

I was I think seven when I had a penpal from America. (I live in the UK) It was pretty cool. A seven year old boy talking to a 8 year old girl.... There was lots we could talk about. *Sarcastic* Haha, just kidding. But we did talk about 'swimming'
