Gonna check out Supernatural: The Animation too.
Though I`ve probably only watched 2-3 episodes of the tv series, so probably won`t watch alot of the anime either, though monsters and such are cooler in anime XD

Completely forgot about that one, doesn't look too promising since I heard it only covers the first 2 seasons (not as epic as season 4&5) and have some of its own original story.

Anyone heard any news of season 6 for Supernatural, or is it still TBA?

Icenst probably :P
Or at least a sister who will be trying to cross that line and a brother who will be annoyed by that :P

And you are a prophet due to this Synopsis I found

Synopsis
Junior High student Nao's brother complex is so strong, it's almost at the point of incest. She's determined to make her brother, High School student Shuusuke, see her as a woman. So determined, that she goes as far as going into his room to throw away all his non-incest related porn. But as she's looking for his porno stash, she finds a photo album... and she's not in any of his childhood pictures. What is going on?

Given that she isn't in any of his childhood pictures, I suspect this one will turn out to be a not-really-incest scenario.

The winter season series has been moved to Countdown Anime: Upcoming

The series shown as Usagigoya is actually Taneko, a completely different series which is schedule for 2011. Usagigoya is currently in hiatus and not part of the January schedule

Dang. I swear that link was correct when I checked the page just before starting this topic. Thank you for alerting me.

Regarding Usagigoya, both Moetron and Fansub Wiki show it for January 2011. I am a bit pressed for time this afternoon, so I will have to check into this later. I will likely append a quote of your statement above with attribution, unless you object.

100% agreed.

I realise that the main audience for anime are probably high school kids, but I don't think this necessarily needs to be reflected in the actual material.

The first real anime I ever saw (I'm not counting DBZ, ugh) was the subbed Rurouni Kenshin. I was in high school myself at the time, and yet I had absolutely no problem relating to these adult characters and becoming pretty much addicted to the series, until those later, filler episodes. As TV Tropes notes, Kenshin was apparently 28 at the beginning of the series...not only that, but he was tired of fighting, and was trying to get away from it, rather than the opposite often seen in Shounen. In the very first episode he shows a cynical (some would say realistic) perspective rather than the usual idealistic one, in regard to swords and violence. We also have Watsuki playing around with historical details, addressing surprisingly dark subject matter (the scenes of Kenshin's past being the main example, adapted into the Tsuiokuhen OVA) and probing all sorts of interesting themes. Now that I'm older, I have different anime and manga that I like, but I still believe that RK was a fantastic introduction to the world of these mediums. None of the people making a lot of these new anime series' seem to have anywhere near the ambition or creativity to try something unusual but still appealing to their target audience, and it's a real shame.

I'm sure there are a handful of good cult shows out there at the moment, but it's still a tad depressing to see so much rubbish everywhere.

I don't know. Much of that stuff is catered to Otaku that wish for an idealistic portrayal of school life. In other words... it's a niche, but one with a very dedicated audience that woefully demand the same tedious stuff year after year (without a sense of good conflict or thematic depth, it becomes old quite fast).

Luckily there's some diversity in the upcoming season, however, the market is far too saturated and uneven for people who don't care about the mundane lifes of a bunch of (pre-)pubescent kids talking about inconsequential shit without any given insight, and where the dialogue often remains too elementary. It's just boring and pointless after the hundredth time.

i completely agree with u, this highchool anime stuff has becomed over rated, its so hard to get a good plot anime lately that does not include high school related stuff, i sure miss all those others like kenshin too.

Will watch the 2nd seasons for Kimi ni Todoke and Mitsudomoe. Most likely will try out Beelzebub and Gosick, nothing else looks all that interesting.

The manga version disagrees, but this version is actually being aired I'm sure they'll tone it down.

Regardless if they do or do not tone it down, I still wouldn't watch since I don't swing the incest way.

There is a few here that at least caught my attention

Nyaru-ani because I like Cthulhu stuff and it could be funny.

Wolverine....Wolverine should not be a tall lanky bishie. He is a short squat ugly mean canuck.....this just feels like blasphemy to me but I feel I must watch it anyway if only to rant about how wrong it is.

I've actually read Hourou Musuko and I found it to be a pretty interesting series so I'll give that a try.

Beelzebub I have to watch and is probably the one I am most excited for.

Gosick I like the look of so I'm curious to take a look at it

Mitsudomoe has already earned a spot on my watch list thanks to season 1

Rio-Rainbow gate has my attention because I don't think I've seen a Card battle series with a female lead before

and Zombie Desu because I like Zombies

Of the OADs: Gintama and Oh my Goddess because I love both of those series.

The rest I'll take a look at but I'm not expecting anything out of them.

Other than the second season of Kimi ni Todoke, there's not much from the list that really garners my attention other than the pleasant / amazing animation qualities. Really hope that there's a more updates on it soon.

If that doesn't happen... time for some 'back to the nostalgia' series.

LOL i feel the same way x)

The 2 series are produced by the same studio, hence the confusion. Usagigoya is rabbit (bottom image) while Taneko is cat (top). Usagigoya was originally scheduled for January.

I doubt it really matters since all the series produced by this company only airs on BeeTV, a mobile phone TV service, and most likely won't be subbed, dubbed or streamed.

They're not overrated to me, but if that's what you think, then okay! I mean, one of these anime could be the next "hit", or something like that.

That's what I always say.
