Adults section?

I'm a relatively new user, but it seems that much of Crunchyroll is aimed at a younger demographic. Can we have sections for adults?

I don't mean "adult" here as a euphemism for pornographic. What I mean is that I'd like to see a little less magical girl, action boy and moe harem, and a little more serious characters and plots. I'd like to see characters with realistic flaws. I'd like to see hard sci-fi, or surreal examinations of psychological states. I'd like to series which deal with complicated, taboo, or even subversive subjects. In the forums, I'd like to see a little less teen/tween angst, a little less spelling errors, a little less youtube-level commentary, and more frank, thoughtful discussion of characters and themes.

My suggestion is that we can add tags for more mature seinen or josei-type anime, and have forums for adult users.

It won't happen. For one CR wants the largest demographic possible, so 13 and up is what they are aiming for. Second, what if the adults here like their magical girl, shounen, moeblob harems and also like they serious plots and extensive character development. Basically, you're saying that you probably should find another forum because things probably aren't going to work out here for you.

hear, hear! i think this is a legitimate request. the adult demographic is one which, for the small amount of time i've been here, has gone neglected. i've been to other forums which have been successful in implementing such "adult" sections. i'm positive crunchyroll would attract a larger audience w/o much disruption to the status quo. one thing i've experienced here which is unfortunate, though somewhat expected on my part, is a certain degree of ageism. i think it would be fun to chat among people of similar interest and maturity. just my two cents.

I'm not saying get rid of moeblob harems and magical girls (I like those, too), but to be perhaps a little more daring in future licensing. Rather than scaring away viewers, I think that it would expand the userbase. Younger viewers aren't necessarily incapable of understanding deeper, more intricate themes, and many of the most acclaimed and enduring anime are of a more mature type, such as Ghost in the Shell, which is hard sci-fi and explores the implications of future technology on crime, politics, and human relationships, or Neon Genesis Evangelion, a dark, psychological deconstruction of the mecha pilot genre. Crunchyroll already has some titles like this, they're just not so easy to find.
