Well Mac users are going to move from Snow Leopard to Lion. One of the changes would be the new looking desktop

I don't see any major changes within this new os-x Lion. They used Tiger, Leopard, Snow Leopard, and now Lion?

OSX Lion Isn't Due out until next summer. Apple's Trend has been to slowly move it's focus to the iOS platform and they are trying to mirror the two systems using the App Store and the Interface from iOS in Lion. Apple has stated that the App store for Snow Leopard will be available within a couple of months. Based on technology shifts and priorities that the company has displayed one can make the following assumptions:
1 - Snow Leopard didn't change the UI that Mac folks are used to, but made extensive changes under the hood. That OS works completely differently than Leopard Did. OpenCL, True 64 Bit Kernel mode available, and a bunch of other things like the Finder, the central point for managing files and folders in Mac OS X, has been completely rewritten in Snow Leopard. But you’d hardly know it from looking. This new version, which was written using the Cocoa frameworks required for any 64-bit application, looks more or less identical to the older version. Apple says that this new Finder is much more responsive than the older model due to the complete rewrite, support for 64-bit mode, and increased threading using the new Grand Central Dispatch technologies.
2 - Lion will use the same foundations as Snow Leopard and make drastic changes to the UI elements. They have to respond to Windows 7. You will have many features that are shared across the Mac line and the iOS line.

Eh, I don't care. It's not enough of an upgrade to make me change from my darling Snow Leopard already. ^^
