My paternal grandfather's parents came from Finland, but I don't know much about it except for tidbits like its war with Russia, its invention of the sauna, and it has a high standard of living like the rest of Scandinavia.

anyway,. back to main question.. I`m curious to hear your opinions of Finland.

By the way, I have a Finnish acquaintance and according to her, religion is a very, very, very sensitive subject in Finland--you aren't even suppose to ask someone about his/her religion.

Is that correct? If it is, I must say that it's quite an extreme right there.

The men in Finland are real men! They drink vodka like it was water, they practically lives in the sauna and they can castrate a reindeer with their teeth. We do have some men like that in north Sweden too, but they speak finnish, of course.

Finland was a part of Sweden until 1809, but we lost it to Russia. that's when Sweden started to become the sissy country we are today.

...Children of Bodom?

That's the extent of my knowledge about Finland. But I don't even really know much about that band to begin with (other than that they're a Finnish metal band and I've heard a whopping total of like, 2 songs by them). So now that I really think about it, I don't know anything about Finland.

But, if anyone is from Finland here....is it really true that Donald Duck is banned there?
