WHATS THE POINT IN MANGAAA??
Posted 11/7/10
Without manga, there wouldn't be anime. ^^
And there's a different feeling when you read manga. . . You can see the actual artwork of the manga-ka (people who make mangas), you can see how much effort the manga-ka did for a certain manga. . . Anyways, you can still read manga even without electricity, unlike anime. ^^ But that doesn't mean I hate anime, I love them both. I'm an otaku!

As many other people have said, anime is usually based off the manga. So i won't get into the details that have already been said again and again. But yeah. Manga isn't always in black and white. Color pages are great, even though they're mostly only for the sake of having color pages, but still. Also, i feel as if anime just sucks away at a lot of time at about 24~ minutes an episode...? Whereas reading the manga will usually get me just a bit farther into the story at a time. Also there are many series that haven't been given an anime yet, but are still very enjoyable to read. Of course, those series may eventually get an anime, i still would prefer the manga anyways.

once agreed with animes was better... But i read a manga and i realised manga is 100x better.

More detail, not 24mins of my life but rather it flows at my pace, character development is better, goes on much longer, story better etc etc.

Anime lacks a lot of what a manga can offer.

However there is the odd exeption(clannad and familar of zero).

Try reading a good manga before critising(sekirei was my first).

Have you ever watched the old anime for Berserk? The manga overshadows the anime, it is more detailed, more epic, and more awesome.

To put it simply, the manga versions of things are usually better. The anime usually leaves out things the manga has. and the anime can be rushed or changed because it isn't kept up with the manga (like the ending in the Gantz anime). Basically, the rule of thumb is that the manga version of anything is usually better, with a few exceptions.

Well
1. You know how manga is usually always ahead of the anime...Well, me like I am, I always read the manga after I finish a episode of the anime. Ruins it ya, but you just got to know!

2. A lot of people probably said this already but not all mangas get turned into animes, and not all animes are mangas. Ya cliicking and waiting is annyoing (it annoys me too) but if I really love the manga I'll buy it and read it. All you do is flip

3. ( Im not sure if this fact is true or not, Sorry if it's not true) Manga has been around longer than anime. I guess you could just call it a tradition. Japan is proud of its anime and manga.

4. Sometimes animes leave out stuff or add stuff like fillers. A lot of people hate random arks like in bleach. ( I don't) So they read the manga. Manga can be intresting yet sometimes confusing. Like when i read action mangas and theres the wooshing lines and all of a sudden the dudes on the floor or something your like what just happend? Theres 1 downside, I got used to it after a little while so I can understand it though.

5. IDK ok. Manga Is Anime. Without manga how would people make animes? If Kubo-San (Bleach Author) Didn't make the manga bleach would we have the anime bleach? Manga is pretty much what give animes the idea! Anime is Manga. Manga is anime.

There you have it, the importance of Manga. Try reading one. There are some REALLY good manga's out there that are not animes

The way I see it; Manga are like books that get turned into movies,
they might be true to the story line, or sometimes diverge, but the manga/book usually contain more information, mainly due to those funny fillers, but there are also some bits that anime miss out that only the manga have.
Although it's interesting to compare the manga with the anime, like Full Metal Alchemist, it takes on different routes and sometimes the anime had more info than the manga,

I love both, but I much rather prefer the manga, I can actually become engrossed in them for ages, don't get me wrong, it's easy to become engrossed in the anime as well, but not as much as the manga

I for one dislike fillers, they sometimes ruin the plot and make the show a lot less interesting because the normally cool arcs get stalled and it gets old. Lately I like manga's way better. And i don't know why animes always have the mjanga stories, i mean they know they are gonna have to make fillers, why not make an original story, and make it totally awesome, an own storyline, so they don't have to stall episodes with more fillers than real storylines. How great would that be? Their own artwork etc, their own story, so they won't ruin great manga story's with fillers or bad animations.

edit: I dont dislike animes though, it just annoys me how much fillers there are. Animations are usually pretty good as well.

I understand where the Original poster is coming from they could easily have made a Anime instead in this day and have zero fillers.

And to say that they don't make risks with Anime is quite daft as even Animes that have a Manga to go off they deroll from the original story and become something totally different in many cases which is a risk in itself.

But yeah it is quite daft to act if there was no Manga there probably wouldn't be any Anime like today plus the Manga are usually in alot more detail.
