hmmm... I not sure but there has been a gradual movement towards ass kicking hot chicks.

It'll be like the 80s again only with more curves.

That or a Moe-Gar hybrid

It Has Arrived !!!

But yeah. the kawaii factor. It sells so they will keep on making cute shows and manga. The shift from kawaii to moe over the last 10 years is evident. Just compare your run of the mill comedy anime from 00' to '05 and from '06 to present and you notice the amount of moe has been exponentially increasing every year. I personally don't mind. I wonder what will be the next sensation.

There wont be a backlash to cuteness/moe just yet.
It WILL happen, but not for years.

What will follow, I can only image will be horrifying. This is Japan we're talking about.
I'm scared.

What you WILL see in the next few years is a heavy increase in moe. It'll be so moe you'll vomit just from hearing about how moe it is.

Great final statement. But I completely agree with you.

i remember in spring of 2010 or something like that, there were a lot of horror anime. granted, they still had cute characters, but i say that if the cute era does end, anime will go into a darker more bloody genre.

I don't see the whole "cuteness" thing ever going out-of-style, so to speak. I mean, if you're not into all the sparkly things that come in your everyday shoujo, then there's always shounen, right? Even though... even those types of animes are bound to have at least one cute character.

Most people based their likings on superficial appearances, this is why it always sells. I failed to see the logic behind the topic of this thread.

^ Yeah but cutesy anime girls had been around since the early or mid 90's. Moreover, "moe" is not a genre but a phenomena in the anime sub-culture.

Moe is considered a genre nowadays, no matter what the original definition of it was supposed to be. The sites that list the anime will have MOE as part of the genre if it has MOE elements.

Well, how long before anime gets made in 3-D? Imagine the possibilities.

Anime will change. It'll become self-aware and realize it doesn't need humans around anymore. They'll start an all out war against mankind which will end in their victory. The war will only last three hours too! Two and a half of those hours will be spent showing anime girls being cute... Like tripping and accidental pantie shots. Then they'll start they're attack!

Like children, anime is the future! And like children, anime can be stopped, but we must act now!

Don't think it'll change anytime soon. It might not change at all... What new "style" will take over next, that's the question.

Kawaii and moe forever!!! i hope it don't change because Japan does kawaii and moe good. thinking about the style changing makes me sad.

I think it is. and that bullshit about cute always being in style is a piss off. i swear people only look superficial shit without looking at story and actual substances shugo chara is a kids show its nothing but a reworked digimon
