Crunchyroll iOS app
|
I recently started to experience real bad buffer problems while watching on the app. The video pauses then takes 3-5 minutes to resume. It's never done it before and has been doing it over the course of the past week. I have an iphone 4 with iOS 6 and latest Crunchyroll app. It's been doing it while I'm watching Hunter x Hunter episodes 15-24 and I can't really see myself watching further if it continues.

Yes, that's my real age.

You should probably scrap the premium membership thing it's kinda annoying, some people just don't have the money for these things.
Oh and the app is great but would you be able to put some new anime content in please like these for example: - Needless - Black Cat - Regios - Gundam 0 and 00, Gundam seed is pretty good too - Code Geass If there is anymore I can think of I will let you know |

It might mean you haven't put the show or anime your watching into a queue yet, the same thing happened to me but as soon as I did that it worked fine, if that doesn't solve your problem I don't know what will

At least one of the two Gundam 00 series is available in multiple countries, but I don't recall which of the two. I would suggest taking a look at the series page and see what shows up for you: http://www.crunchyroll.com/mobile-suit-gundam-00 Black Cat and Regios are licensed by Funimation, so you won't be seeing them at CR. Needless is licensed by Sentai, so there is the possibility it might eventually be licensed as a catalog title, but since Sentai only has license for the U.S. and Canada, it would not be available to other countries even if that happened. |

I had the same issue, I just went general setting -> Reset -> Reset network setting and it hasn't happened since. Don't know what the cause was but it seems to work at least for me. Edit: correction its a only temporary fix and the app still doesn't work entirely right on cellular. fixed typo |

Posted this in the general suggestions thread too, but is there any chance of native AppleTV support planned so that the app uses the whole screen?

I have an AppleTV and an iPad. I decided to try the airplay option in the app and only ended up having audio on the AppleTV. I discovered a way to do video mirroring by double tapping the home button and swiping right. At that point I saw how poor the video was, because I wasn't a premium member, making the subtitles hard to read on the TV. At that point I figure I would go premium. This turned to be a poor choice, since this breaks AirPlay and even the video mirroring no longer works.
Very disappointed. You should really fix AirPlay in the app. Update: killed the app and restarted. Looks like non-video mirroring works now. BTW is this option only available in premium mode? BTW was watching Queens's Blade and the resolution could be better for the subtitles. Still looks somewhat pixilated on my TV. It's less than non-premium, but could be better. Can't rendering of the subtitles be delegated to the OS API? |

Can't rendering of the subtitles be delegated to the OS API? Subtitles are hard encoded into the videos and depend on the video quality on whether they are clear or fuzzy. The max video resolution currently in the iOS app is 480p. CR has said they are working on bringing HD to the iOS app. The subtitles use to be soft subs and were rendered by iOS, but the subtitles were extremely small with no way to change the font size or color. That was a limitation of iOS, however that was back with iOS 3.2 and iOS 4, and I am not sure if Apple has made any improvements to built in subtitle rendering with recent releases of iOS. EDIT: And yes, airplay is only available for premium members. You can also use an HDMI adapter and do mirroring that way. |

Same problem here. iPad 2, still on iOS 5, tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but viewing history and queue just don't update with my watching. If I add new series, they show up in my queue, but nothing else changes. |

I plan to watch anime mostly on my iPad and not being able to makes hard to justify my subscription. Thanks. This, i paid for 2 months, I'm just back in a place where i can use my pc, i have requested my money back to no reply. This was a week or 2 ago. I like crunchyroll but seriously this is unacceptable, i essentially paid for nothing. |

I really want to be able to watch shows on my iPad, rather than give up on the premium suscription. |
