4) My iPod crashes whenever I try to play a video. When the video starts to load and the spinning dots appear, the app crashes. I am assuming that this is because the current update is incompatible with my iPod and will not show the Ads. Is there a way to fix this or will the 3rd gen be "killed" off from using the app? I Already tried to open the video from the browser with the same issue occurring.
5)
a. Open the app.
b. Click on a video and press the episode and then press play.
c. Click no thanks to premium.
d. Circle of dots appear and spins.
e. App crashes and brings me to home screen.
f. "Rinse and Repeat"

Thank You For Your Time And Consideration.

Exactly the same problem here, the app crashes when trying to play any video.
1) Device type - iPod Touch 2nd Gen
2) OS version - 4.2.1
3) App version- latest

thanks in advance for you help !

Are you using any vpn or proxy services such as UnblockUs?

Yeah. And disabling it solved the issue (as annoying as that is). Odd that its only certain titles that don't get logged in the history when its enabled.

Probably can't get this sorted out since it's a problem that is most likely occuring for me only, but my iPod's accelerometer is broke, so my device is stuck in portrait unless the app overrides it. Now usually, the video player was automatically set to play in landscape mode on crunchyroll, but since the new UI update, it now plays in portrait, and I refuse to use it. Any chance of a fix or is there no point putting the work in if it's just one measly customer having the problem?

I know this isn't a matter that need to be addressed by crunchyrolll.
But My accelerometer/clinometer/whatever the tilt sensor is called is broken and has been broken for over a year. YouTube and Crunchyroll are awesome because they autorotate the screen so I can actually watch things properly(unlike dailymotion grrrrr) but now with this new layout the screen is tiny Dx and there's no way for me to change it. I usually watch videos On CR via iPod daily so its really problematic.

If possible could we get a user setting/video player button for autorotating the screen?
Else, is there a way to revert to the old player (basically unpatch the app)?

Sorry and thanks @-@"

wow, I really didn't expect anyone to have the same problem as me! Broken iPod buddies!

Hi again

I said in a previous post that my problems with the language were fixed, but apparently they were not. I still need to change iOS language to English in order to watch shows in English. Otherwise I get the "you don't have permission to watch this" error.

I hope you guys are still working on this issue.

We're working on improving our language options in app.
I'll make sure to pass this along to development.

This may be a special case issue with Mexico and Spain that we need to work out.
I'll see if I can get more info from CrowdBender when he's back.

Did you remove compatibility with the iPod Touch 2nd Gen? My app wasn't working, so I deleted it and tried to get it again, but it said it wasn't compatible.

Not sure why you are using non-standard UI controls for the video player after the last update. I actually use the 30 second rewind button once in a while. Please bring back the standard iOS style controls.

I also would appreciate having some kind of instant rewind button. I haven't used it a lot, but I'm more likely to be unexpectedly interrupted when watching on my iPhone and miss a few seconds before I can manage to pause, so that 30-second rewind does come in handy.

1) Device type - , iPod Touch 2nd Gen
2) OS version - 4.2.1
3) App version, I don't know why version or even when I ddownloaded it.
4) Detailed description of the problem. Ever since yesterday, I tries to watch several videos. Everytimes, I would see the apple clock thing going around and stuff and then the app would crash.
5) Steps to reproduce the problem... Trying to watch a video

I think the problem is because the fact that maybe support for older models of iOS devices are unsupportd now. It would be reall nice if crunchyrollsupported older models too.

This is why.

Since the beginning of time, the Crunchyroll app has used the default video player given to us by Apple. This video player is like a black box. There's nobs on the outside that we can tweak, but what actually goes on inside the box is completely at the discretion of Apple. Our app uses adaptive video streaming, which as the name implies adapts the quality of your video according to your bandwidth. Unfortunately, how and when the video quality changes is completely decided by the video player. With every update of iOS, Apple changes how the video player works a little bit. As of iOS 6, we've noticed that the performance of the video player has turned to garbage, which may be what you are seeing on your iPad mini. Verion 2.04, which should be on the app store in a few hours, has ditched said video player in favor of a different one that we think works better. Please upgrade to that on your iPad mini, and share with us your thoughts. =)

I was having the same quality issue, and the quality still looks pretty poor on my iPad 3 with iOS 6.0.1, even after the latest (2.0.4) update :(.

Definitely not a bandwidth problem, since my computer streams the 1080p streams just fine. Not sure if it's relevant, but the Android app looks to have similarly poor quality.
