I don't know anything about the wifi at my house. >_< if that's a factor, it might be the entire problem, I just don't know anything lol.

I use the orange app, with all the anime and drama stuff.

If it is my wifi, would a premium membership help at all?

You can download the free Speedtest.net app and see what the bandwidth is you are actually getting over your WiFi connection:
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/speedtest.net-mobile-speed/id300704847?mt=8

If you don't want to download an app, you can also try one of these HTML5 tests in Safari:

Have some problems with the new/latest app.

My device: 2nd gen iPod Touch
IOS: 4.2.1

I suppose, first thing first... does the new app support IOS 4.2.1?

If yes, then... The problem: No longer can watch videos (non mature) in my iPod Touch. The app loads and it looks like it works. I click the episode that I want to watch. Then, I see the player appear (the window with the play/pause button). And, that's about it. Then the app automatically closes, and I'm back to my iPod's "desktop".
I deleted the app (big mistake), and now I can't download it.

I was able to watch anime from my iPod touch 3 months ago.

Ah, sighs.
There should be another app for older devices. Thanks though.

So, I've been connecting my phone to my TV to watch Crunchyroll a lot more recently, and I have noticed one irritating, inconsistent error that seems to be occurring with the TV-out feature.

Basically, once the phone is connected to the TV, the volume will default to (and lock to) mute, and I won't be able to adjust it at all.

I can usually work around this through several attempts of unplugging it and adjusting the volume with the phone disconnected (although a lot of the time it will just reset as soon as I reconnect it), but it's still really annoying and I hope we can get a fix for it soon!

Thanks for making this thread. We'll be monitoring it regularly for reports.

For bug reports, it would be immensely helpful if people would provide the following details - many of which you mentioned in the first post.

1) Device type - iPhone 4S
2) OS version - 6.1.1
3) App version, 2.10
4) Detailed description of the problem. Try to watch videos from iPhone app and get the following message
Video player error the operation could not be completed
5) Steps to reproduce the problem tried restarting phone reinstalling app logging out/in nothing working

Is Airplay supported with Crunchyroll v2.10?

I receive "Error trying to load content" everytime I try to Airplay from iPad, iPhone, or iPod. All are at IOS v6.1.2 and AppleTV3 is at 5.2.

Just wanted to see if anyone else is able to Airplay.

Hi All,

I do experience the "Unable to load video" error for some of the anime e.g. Kamisama Dolls or Folktales from Japan.
I am using iPad gen2, iOS 6.1

Based on the info on this forum I have checked my settings, as well as I have added my birthday.

My settings are
Default video quality : SD
Mature content filter : Show mature content
Default language : English (US)
Default full screen hardware acceleration: Enabled
Autoplay Profile music: Don't autoplay

I also removed and reinstalled the app.
The problem is still outstanding. Let me know how it can be fixed.

Thx in advance.

Any news on when HD will be coming to the iPad app? Gotta make use of the high res screen, it's essential for viewing quality, 720p at least. Is there any reason why it's taking so long to arrive?

Same issue but on my iPad version 6.1.2 app version 2.10. I've done it all. Updated age/ content, reinstalled/ deactivated, reset iPad, cleared history, this is bordering on retarded now and I'd like a solution not a blanket maybe thi will help...

Sorry that I haven't popped in recently!
Things have been increasingly busy with the release of the Xbox app, our Store and adding the ability to contact us directly from the iOS apps.
E-Mail will continue to be the fastest way to get official support from CR Staff.
Just use the 'Contact Us' link at the bottom of the page.

Best,

sir, ive been using crunchyroll for almost 5 months but i can only watch naruto, eyeshield 21, and other yet there is this bug that prevents me to watch other videos like ixion saga DT, senyu, total eclipse and more. it always says "errror, Unable to load video" ive re installed it about 4 times. what should i do? BTW cruchyroll rock

That is because by default mature content is blocked on iOS devices. Users need to opt-in and manually enable mature content on iOS devices because of Apple's mature content policy.

To enable mature content, you need to first set your date of birth. http://www.crunchyroll.com/editprofile

After that, you need to set the mature content filter to "Show Mature Content". https://www.crunchyroll.com/acct/?action=video

For future issues, check the Common Problems and Solutions thread first as it can answer most questions, like the one you just asked about. http://www.crunchyroll.com/forumtopic-784141/common-problems-and-solutions

Does it really resolves the problem?
I am struggling with the same issue, followed the instructions but still getting the same error - "Unable to load video" .
Is there any other hidden trick to get over this problem?

Any idea, hint?

Thank you very much for any help in advance.

Yes, it really solves the problem that my post was answering. The user was only able to play shows that were not mature rated.

Is your problem the same? Are you able to play a non-mature rated shows like Naruto? Do you only get the error message when you try and play a mature rated show?

If you are getting the message no matter what show you are trying to play, then you do not have the same problem.

You can try logging out and then logging back into the app after you have set the mature content filter. Sometimes this is required to get the app to recognize the new filter settings.

If you are still unable to play videos, you should contact support using the Contact Us link at the bottom of every page. Make sure to be specific about the problem and include the names of the shows that you have tried to play on the app.
