Sorry, I guess if I don' t choose quote it doesn't show who the reply was to. Hopefully it's obvious from the description of the issue.

I have the exact same problem.

1) iPad
2) 3.2.2
3) 1.0.9
4) I am unable to click on any thumbnails (for series or individual episodes via search). The only thing that works is the Play button that appears under the featured items.
5) Just try to use it with this configuration.

Also, I was logged in. Didn't try it logged off.

I think I figured out why people are having this problem. You had the old iPad app installed, and installed the new Universal app without removing the old app, right? We weren't very clear about this, but you need to remove the old iPad app first.

In fact, it's probably cleanest if you remove both CR apps at this point, and reinstall the new app. Can you try that and see if it helps? Thanks!!

gintama's sound is off on everything on the latest version of the iPod touch 4g when you start the video (usually happens during eps. 9-80) the theme song will still be playing during the middle of the episode and when their mouths are shut they will still be talking. It works perfectly fine on the labtop and computer though

Hi, I've heard that it's a known issue with our current iOS encoder. We'll try to fix it soon!

Yes, that's right. I removed the old one after installing the new one. I'll reinstall and give it another try.

Gave it a try and that worked fine. Thanks!

1) Device type: Iphone 3G
2) OS version : 3.1.3 / Cydia: 1.0.3201-71
3) App version: Latest? (pushed to app store 11/11/2010)
4) Detailed description of the problem.: Video is ~80 hours long, but no video is actually there after the 24 minute episode, it breaks the subtitles. This apperas to be an encoder problem, i noted this error in the last thread. It makes about 1/2 of the vidoes on the app unwatachable. There are 2 things that occur: 1. The vido player crashes back to the app and will not decode the video 2. the video is decoded but lasts from 20 -> 200 hours breaking the soft subtitles.
5) Steps to reproduce the problem: Just watch some vidoes like: Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu ep 1, shugo chara ep 90->100, also most of the newer videos (like the ones airing this season) do not work, the video player launches but crashes right back to the app as soon as it gets the video header.

This needs to be fixed, i have checked on several IOS devices and these problems are reporducabe on:

(my phone) 3G - 3.1.3 / Cydia 1.0.3
(my old phone) Iphone - 3.1.3 / Cyida 1.0.3
(my bro's) 4 - 4.1.2

So im quite sure its an encoding problem with your vidoes. And it seems that there have been some problems with the encoders above. Yes i have done the idiot check (remove app -> install new) done it a few times.

1) Device type: iPad
2) OS version : 3.2.2 (7B500
3) App version: Current.
4) Detailed description of the problem.: Any episode I try to watch gives me a 29-30 minute sound test, I have tried it on a number of animes and different episodes from each anime. The text is blurred but it looks like is says 4x3 NTSC SQUARE TEST PATTERN - Gear 1, then after a certain period of time it changed to Gear 2 with a higher pitched sound then to Gear 3 with an even higher pitched sound.
5) Steps to reproduce the problem: Just watch some episodes, The episodes I have tried are: The World God Only Knows Ep 8; Shugo Chara Ep 46, 48, 51; Eyeshield 21 Ep 145, 141; La Corda d'Oro Ep 8, 10, 28(Secondo Passo ep2)

I was watching episodes of Eyeshield 21 and Shugo Chara until about 3 AM and didn't have this problem, but now I cant watch anything.

Just an update but i brought my phone to 4.2.1 / Cydia 1.0.3366-1 and i still have this problem, which only means that it re-enforces the fact that crunchyroll has something broken. The iphone app is about 1/2 of my willingness to pay for this service as i dont spent much time at home and i stream most of my shows to my phone. With this occurring more and more recently it has become near impossible to watch a show on my iphone!

Hope you guys at least look into this, id rather deal with a few crashes than no video / subs at all!

Sorry, we accidentally released some test code that showed test videos instead of real ones on iOS for a while. We fixed it a few hours ago - enjoy your anime over the holidays!!

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Hi, we'll definitely look into it. We are actively working on encoders and your enumeration of affected episodes definitely helps a lot!

BTW we don't officially support jailbroken phones. I doubt it makes any difference in how the app runs, but just making it clear. =)

Happy turkey day~

I understand why you can't support jailbroken phones and such is why I tested on other nonunlocked devices!

Thanks for the reply!

I have an iPod touch and have the latest app update. When I found the problem I also reuploaded the crunchyroll app to see if that was the issue. The earlier Gintama episodes' audio is off (or the subs are). Later episodes in the 100's are working. I also checked other animes and the subtitles seemed to work. To show you the problem watch gintama 58 and you'll see the audio issues (especially if you fast forward to later in the episode). It is fine on the computer so I think it's just an issue for the iPod touch users. Thank you so much for your help!! Happy thanksgiving!!
