iPhone 4, iOS 5.1 (9B176), CrunchyRoll App 1.14

There is an issue that occurs when one pauses a playback, or when a playback is paused by an incoming call, application switching, etc. When resuming, everything plays as normal. However, at some point the episode will restart at the beginning. The slider, however, is still in the expected spot. The only way to view the rest of the program is to restart it from scratch and scrub to the location you left off.

As I have had this happen to me several times, I have formed a hypothesis as to what might be happening. The time from when the show skips to the beginning and the nominal time the show should have properly ended seems to correlate to the amount of time the show has been paused. This would seem to indicate that when the show is paused the app continues tracking time. After the show is unpaused, when the time tracks to the length of the show, the show restarts from the beginning.

This is a known issue and work around steps are in the 'Known Issues' thread.
We're working to resolve this problem.

I watched the crunchyroll apps lot ..bleach apps. I wish that you should have add the DetectiveConan apps. That will be nice...

I'm not sure if this has been reported, and 63 pages is quite a bit of reading. So here goes:

1) Device type - ipad3
2) OS version - 5.x
3) Crunchyroll Latest
4) Detailed description of the problem. Screenshots, error messages, anything weird you see, etc.

While viewing some dramas on the ipad with airplay to appletv, we notice the show ends early and/or never finishes. Sometimes we can go to another episode and come back to the ep we were watching and can forward to where it stops and it works fine.

Also, just love episode one has problems with subs about 20 minutes into the show. The subs are going faster then the scenes.

From the known issues thread.


There is a current known issue on devices running iOS 5.
(Video skipping intermittently. Video restarting and time bar becoming inaccessible.)
We apologize for any inconvenience this is causing you & we are looking into the issue.
To work around this bug you can take the following steps.

Double tap the Home button to bring up the Multitasking bar.
Press and hold anywhere on the multitasking bar until the icons on it start to wiggle.
While they are wiggling, each icon has a Minus sign symbol above it.
Press the Minus symbol above the Crunchyroll app to close it down.
Then open up the Crunchyroll app again and re-play the video you were watching.


I think Bazoukazuma mentioned something about this being how iOS5 handles http video streaming.(This problem has been around ever since iOS 5 came out) CR has been trying to find a way to fix this for a long time now.


Before iOS 5, the app never had this issue. Too bad we can't choose to use the old method of streaming in iOS 5 :(

On the mobile site I can find the show magicians academy but it says " click here to view in the crunchyroll app. Nothing happens when I click on the link. I n the app I cannot find the show itself.

I have been COMPLAINING about this issue since iOS 4.2.1 on my iPad for a while now.
(See posts from 12/9/11)
Now, I have iOS 5.1 and I still have this "restart" problem.
Nice to see I am not the only person with this problem.
Not nice to see CR STILL blaming this on iOS.
I have the HBO GO, MAX GO, NETFLIX and ANIME NETWORK apps. NONE of these apps has this issue.
ONLY CRUNCHYROLL!!!
PLEASE FIX THIS APP or BLOW UP THE APP AND START ALL OVER AGAIN!!

Log out of the app.
Log into your account on www.crunchyroll.com
Go to Settings
Go to Video Preferences
Change it to anything but 'Show Mature Content'
Change it to 'Show Mature Content'
Log into your account on the app

This should resolve the problem.

I was considering getting some video output cables for my iPhone 4. One item mentioned it worked for all apps that support video out.
So, my question is: Does the Crunchyroll app for iOS support video out?
If it does, if someone could recommend some good cables for HD output, that would be most appreciated.
