Unable to view dramas from my ipad......

1) Device type - iPad
2) OS version - 4.2.1.
3) App version - only one available12-2-2009, updated 11-12-2010
4) Detailed description of the problem - the message to download the app fromthe app store keeps apearing, tho I've already downloadedthe app.
5) Steps to reproduce the problem - have deleted the app, powered down the ipad, and reloaded the app again from the crunchyroll site at least twice. Still unable to view dramas or videos on my ipad. Any help would be really appreciated. Have already signed up the Premium 2 week free trial.Thank You! Sharon

This isn't a good sign for Crunchyroll. I posted my question 9 days ago, and I have 4 days left of my 2 week trial period. I have not been able to try the service at all, since none of the videos I have tried on my iPad have worked (I'm on 3G). If Crunchyroll's support can't respond to my question during the last few days of my trial, how can I subscribe to the service?

Crunchyroll support: Are you listening?

Joe

EDIT: Okay, I found that my "free trial" was only for Anime, not for Dramas. So I cancelled the free trial and started a full, paid subscription to the Drama section. But I'm still getting the "3G Video not ready. Please check back later!" error message, when I try to view any dramas! For example, Jewel in the Palace, episode 1. I am looking forward to a reply from Crunchyroll's support so that I can enjoy my paid subscription.

Help! I'm getting an error message when I try to play videos: "3G Video not ready. Please check back later!" I am a registered user on the 2 week trial, trying out the service. I would love for this to work!!!

1) Device type - iPad, connecting via 3G (not over Wifi)
2) OS version - 4.2.1 (8C148)
3) App version - latest (1.09)
4) Detailed description of the problem: when I click on "Play", all videos say "3G Video not ready. Please check back later!" Based on replies to other users on this forum, I tried deleting and reinstalling the app, but this didn't help. I still get the same "3G Video not ready..." message.
5) Steps to reproduce the problem: start CrunchyRoll, log in, browse to Korean Dramas, click on Coffee Prince (for example), pick an episode (I chose #1), click on play, then I get this "3G Video not ready..." message.

Thanks,
Joe

Hi, I believe you have TWO versions of the Crunchyroll app installed on your iPad. Try removing both of them, and then installing the app from the app store. Let us know if this doesn't fix it for you!

Crunchyroll app doesn't work for 3G. You need to use WiFi in order for the videos to play.

@JeeKTan: I don't think you're right. Look at CrunchyRoll's page describing their service: http://www.crunchyroll.com/premium_comparison. Under "Drama Membership", it says "All Drama Titles" have "Ad-Free ED Video on: iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad over 3G". I am now a paid member of the Drama Membership level, and I still get this "3G Video not ready. Please check back later!" error.

UPDATE: I've updated to the newly released v1.10 of CrunchyRoll app, and I still get the "3G Video not ready. Please check back later!" on my iPad 3G on any Korean drama. (I'm a paid member of the Drama Membership level.) Also, @JeeKTan, CrunchyRoll's own sippit wrote a post from ~3 weeks ago (http://www.crunchyroll.com/forumtopic-675806/crunchyroll-ios-app?pg=3#34392459) indicating that they've made specific fixes to 3G video handling - so I still have no indication that video is supposed to be wifi-only, as you say.

You might have disabled Cellular Data on you ipad. You can check it at Settings>General>Network and turn Cellular Data ON. If it doesn't work, you would have to use WiFi.

P.S : Apparently CR support is the worst even though you have premium account (CR support stop responding to me when they are halfway solving my problem). So, you're better off asking other helpful members for any problems.

Device: iPad
Latest software and crunchyroll update

Ever since I updated to my new airport extreme I can't stream crunchy roll at all. It wont even load, the ad will load while I'm logged out of my premium account and then the screen will go black and stay black for the next 10 mins +. I've reinstalled, restarted iPad, everything. Since the ad will load and everything else will load the problem is obviously with crunchy roll. All I want for christmas is crunchy roll on my new ipad.

I downloaded the new update and the K-drama still freezes after a while when playing. I even have the drama membership, any solutions. It happens on both the Ipad and Ipod.

Hi, can you verify that you have ONE crunchyroll app installed? Try searching for Crunchyroll in spotlight and see how many application results you get. If you have two, please try removing both apps and reinstalling from the App Store. Let us know how things go!!

Can you give us some examples of which episodes are giving you problems? We will verify them.

Hi, the problem is exactly as the error message says - we haven't encoded those episodes in a format that's streamable using the 3G network. We will try to encode them as fast as possible, but we are a little backlogged with regards to encoding. Sorry about that!

1) Black screen on launch -> is it a completely black screen? do you see an animated spinner? any graphics or images if you look closely?
It's what I call "VCR black" - you can tell the screen is "on", but there is nothing there, just that sorta glowy black.
2) Do you see the app splash screen before it goes black when you launch it for the second time?
yes. briefly. very briefly.
3) If you leave the black screen alone for a couple minutes, does it crash by itself or stay there?
it just sits there
4) Which ISP are you using?
Comcast, 20MB downstream

There was an update yesterday. Can you try installing the latest version from scratch (remove current version then install from App Store), and let us know how things go?

The audio and video for Panty and Stocking episode 11 become out of sync at around 8 minutes and 50 seconds into the video.

I wonder how many of the videos are checked after encoding. There seems to be a lot of videos with syncing problems lately and it really lowers the whole CR experience for me as I mostly use my iPad for CR now. This is the 6th video to have syncing problems that I have come accross in the past few weeks, with half being new released simulcasts.

iPad 4.2.1
CR App v1.09
To repeat the problem just watch the video and seek to around the 8:50 minute mark.

Thanks for reporting that. We're working to fix a lot of these A/V sync issues so your reports definitely help a lot!

Watched Bleach Episode 300 and it was smooth and HD all the way through. Prior to update we couldn't get all the way through with out it locking up. I don't remember it being letterbox, which it was, but it was still good, not a single hiccup or glitch. I was able to start, stop and high speed scrub, although after I scrubbed backward, I couldn't scrub forward, but I think it was always that way. I was also able to move back and forth between full screen and embedded. There are a couple more I need to watch. If I have any additional issues, I'll post a description, but that was nice.
