Heh I'm glad to see that it's working for someone. Thing about ios though is that we all have the same hardware and the software etc. I don't get why we wouldn't have the same experience. Why is yours working??

Feedback about the new IOS app.

1) The old app allowed me to continue watching a show on the appletv while being able to browse on the ipad.

2) When the screen lock kicks in the app stops playing video. This was fine on the old app.

I like the way the new app looks; however it would be nice that I don't have to keep touching the screen to keep a show going.

Watched another Sket Dance episode and this time the app froze with a black screen at 3 specific places; after the opening, at the break, and just as the credits began. Returning to the Home Screen and loading the app again caused the episode to resume at the point where it left off.

Don't know....but to be honest, before I posted I had only been watching 3 min. shows
like Poyopoyo and Chitose Get You on my iPhone 4 using the new app.
And, the ADS WERE DRIVING ME NUTS!! (Listening to Finding Nemo 3D....in Spanish?)
I was willing to pay just to get rid of that....but I went back to old iPad app and
I didn't have have skips...so I just decided to dive into a paid subscription head first to see what
happens with the new app minus the ads. Nothin'.....no skip and no ADS!!!!
I had no probs til the new ep of Tari Tari....skips galore. But the last ep didn't have any. FUNNY!
The last admin said it was the way the videos were encoded. That might still be the case.
I can still cancel if things get worst....so no big!!! All I ever wanted to see was some show of effort!!
By the looks of the new IU....the effort seems to be there!
Just show me some follow through and might let CR keep my money!!


Edit: just finished rewatching ep 1 of usagi drops....no probs.
Ep 2.....probs!!

To those just having the problem where at the end of the video it freezes and won't let you go back to other videos, there is a temporary fix that might help until the next update without having to restart your iPad or redownload the app.

Just click the circle button to get to the home screen, then once there hit it twice again. A little bar should appear at the bottom with all your recently used apps. Delete the crunchyroll app(it will not delete it off your iPad, just restart it) then reopen the app. It should be restarted so you can start the next episode.

Hope that helps people for a while! :)


((And no, I am not with crunchyroll at all, I just wanted to saves some headaches.))

iphone 4 with IOS-5.1.1
just downloaded update by mistake......

issues i have is after finally loading an episode about 3 minutes in the screen goes blank.
have to hit home button and tap app again to resume episode which in turn places screen to the bottom instead of still being center.
this will happen 2 more times,middle and near end of episode.
once episode is finished i try to hit the done button but then have to completely close down app and reopen to find another show.

.....geuss i will just watch on my ipod touch 3rd gen that still runs the old version perfectly till an update fixes the recent one.

I had the same problem with the iPad, it appears to be linked to the iphone/ipad going into screen saver mode.

So long as I was touching the screen of the iphone the problem didn't occur. Which is fine(ish) if you're using an Apple TV to display the video on a real TV.

This is still a bug though - the previous version of the iOS app continued to broadcast to the AppleTV after the screensaver kicked in.

tried playing an episode with screen saver mode off and phone lugged in to charge without using AppleTV.still the same but just noticed i
can recenter the image if i flip the phone though.

I would like to know why the available programming is so reduced from what was there on the old app. For example, I was following Nakaimo and now it's gone! It is still on the website but no longer accessible with the new app. I also see that older shows that were listed under the seasons menu are gone. The terms of the Premium membership say's that all the anime videos are available to us and the link to the website lists many, many shows not listed on the new app. Does not seem right. Cost of the membership is not reduced for the reduced catalog available.

It works fine with me, i see Nakaimo on the list (iPad), just go to Anime -> A-Z -> scroll down (i wait a little for a refresh).
Also make sure the "Mature Content Filter" is off in your settings page (on the site)

I have nakaimo in my queue on the app, but cos of the mature content thing on ios apps I presumed it wouldn't play. As usual I go to the website via safari and click the watch now link to send me to the app, but it's not working.

I've not tried for any other anime, but they have prolly not updated the link to direct to the new app.

Thanks! No way to change settings on the app. I found it on the website and now shows all the shows that were missing. Man, they don't make it easy or explain it very well. Thanks again!

A different issue now; I've just found the Devices section on the Settings menu. Anyone know why there's an entry for an iPhone and iPod touch when I only have a iPad?!
