It is sad when fandoms divide over trivialities. Take Kirk vs. Picard for example. Gundam is facing the same issue. UC fans, SEED fans, and Wing fans, all in conflict. Personally I like SEED. I hate Wing, though I can appreciate it for its music and some nice MS designs. My fav is UC, though sometimes there is a pressure that can make it unacceptable to like any of the AUs, even the loose continuity X and Turn A. I mean, G was so entertaining and whatnot, but there is so much conflict on whether that was good or not, and don't get me started on ZZ. Either way, I think it is time for everyone to put down their petty fanboyisms/fangirlisms, and be able to appreciate each others' series without looking like we've betrayed.

People seem to be blaming me for the whole "U.C. vs. C.E." thing lately....I did not start that! The hatred developed over time with the "KIRA PWNS AMURO" crap that most of the SEED fans posted. Actually I liked SEED myself, except for Destiny. It's just how the SEED fans make it seem like such an Narutarded show with their obesessive Kira worshiping on every post they make, I mean I can deal with the "Kira pwns" posts. But, most of the posts by the SEED-fans were Anti-U.C., Anti-AU, and Anti-Everything Else . Like, how they did Elfen Lied, and DeathNote. They pretty much took a huge shit on the series because of that. To be honest....I tried to avoid the U.C. vs. C.E. thing....But, it happened anyway. And, I tried to end the bickering. But, the SEED-fans just kept bickering with me about how Kira pwns Amuro, and how SF can pwn the Nu Gundam.

Also, HarimaKenji....I didn't start this group as a SEED-hatred group. I started it as a gathering place for U.C. fans, since there aren't that many on CR. I'll admit that I acted childish. But, I won't admit that the U.C. fans started all of this.

My suggestion, send them this Youtube link, technically it's about video games, but the message is essentially the same. http://youtube.com/watch?v=r1mZJR7aogw&feature=related

You know........when I was in a SEED group, something pointed out what changes would have been made to both series. As you know I put down several. One of them was To have Kira not act like Jesus with his Freedom. This started quite a bickering let me tell you. During this, I made these two picks to celebrate that particular discussion.....

Yes. There were times when I laughed my ass off doing this

Lol man, those pics are XD Is that V (from V for Vendetta) in there too?

About all the hate in the fandom. I find that in any fandom there's a certain level of hostility, but I've never been in a three-way split like Gundam. All I've ever wanted in a Gundam-related fan-space is to talk about the things I like, freely and without persecution. Sadly, that rarely happens. I've had to leave several places due to "anti-this-and-that".

For the record, what I mostly hate about SEED is its fans. Those stupid fools who refuse to admit that there is other Gundam besides SEED and that watching and liking other Gundam is alright, or they don't even know that other Gundam exists. They turned me off the series. The characters and plot just didn't make me want to sit through it either. I did read what happened on Wikipedia, seeing as it’s so damn detailed. What I did like about SEED was its music, artwork and mecha, plus hot guys even if they did look like girls most of the time.

I admit that I haven't watched the entire series (only watched up to ep 38), despite owning the boxset. One day I will, I have alot of spare time on my hands, but I should watch X and Turn A first. And as for DESTINY, I've read and own the manga, seen bits on Youtube, red the Wiki on it and own the Artbox and 9 volumes (the 10th volume comes out in Feb where I live). I'm not going to watch it until I've finished SEED and it's supposed to be bad.... I did enjoy the Astray side-stories though; I own all the volumes that have been released in English so far. Astray is fun to read, 8 the computer is cute too.

As for Wing. I love Wing, but not as much as UC. Wing was what got me into Gundam and it still has a special place in my heart. Looking back at it now, it might not have had the greatest things about it and I couldn't understand it when I was 12, but it was still fun to watch. When I got the boxset as a surprise for Christmas 2006, I couldn't wait to watch it again. Watching Wing reminded me about when I'd just started High-School and used to make plans around what time it was on, you know like "Gundam Wing is on at 5:30, I'll come over after that" or "Hurry home Mum, Gundam Wing is on in 30 min". So I can't bring myself to hate Wing even if people give me a million reasons. It might be hypocritical to say this but for me Wing is Wing, it just is.

G Gundam...I like it. Most people don't, but I do. I'm going to get the boxset next week if Mum gives me the money. I liked G Gundam because it wasn't like anything I'd seen in Gundam before. I saw it after watching Wing and Zeta, and was amused. I just treated it as any ordinary mecha anime; I didn't get upset about the tight Lycra and the burning fingers or the 'racist' mecha.

Now for UC. UC is my favorite out of all the Gundams. Why? Because of the realism. I first encountered UC back in late 2004, by accident, when Zeta's box set was released. My aunt saw the box set online and thought that it was "that show about giant robots that Mary-Lynn likes" and told my Mum. Mum brought it for me and I decided to watch it even though it wasn't Wing. The sharpeners were cool too! Zeta grabbed me from the first episode; I wanted to see what Kamille would end up doing next. The plotline was good too, with enough surprises to keep me interested. I liked most of the cast, minus Fa, Katz, Beltachika and Jerrid (I ended up liking Jerrid after the movies) and people died in it, something I'd had very little experience with in anime. It was war, good people died and evil was allowed to escape, like Yazan and Haman.

Seeing Zeta, I wanted to go back and watch Mobile Suit Gundam, to see Char and Amuro, and how they first met and fought. Unfortunately I couldn't find the series and had to make do with the movies. I've still only seen the first 6 episodes of the series (that's all I can download right now) plus the movies and some manga. One item on my wishlist is the entire first series; I'd so marathon it.

Then I watched ZZ. It was funny but not really what I expected from a sequel to Zeta, the second half was good though.

The OVAs were next; I prefer the 08th MS team out of all of them. Wish they would have made the OVAs longer, especially War in the Pocket, its episode count was too short.

Then, CCA. It was the thing that ensured me being a UC fan. I'd always liked Char, but now he was mega-cool. I'd heard about the movie before, some guy on the bus told me about Wing's finale being mostly like CCA's, but hadn't got around to seeing it. I admit, I downloaded it. It's still on my hard-drive, as I don't own the DVD, ever time I get online on ebay, I look for it but it's never available in my region.

F91 and Victory came last. F91 didn't impress me, but it was originally supposed to be a complete series...And Victory was cool but I didn't ever get that attached to the cast.

So that's where I'm up to, just looking around for more manga to read and compiling my knowledge. I'm no expert and I'll never try to pretend that I am. One big problem with the Gundam fandom is that a certain elite appear and lord their knowledge over others in a cruel way, forgetting that everyone that is there is a fan. It doesn't matter if you can tell me how many times a certain suit is used in canon or if you can recite all the lines from a certain episode, it's impressive but doesn't make you 'better' than anyone. (I'm not attacking anyone here by the way).

I think the best way to solve this is to simply avoid the SEED fans, even though they appear everywhere. UC fans have message boards and fan-sites, don't they? So let's just visit them.

Gundam Seed was my first Gundam anime that my friend introduce to me and got me and my ex girlfriend together (just recently broke up). I love Seed, it's so amazing, the graphics are good and I just loveeee Lacus. Probably my 3rd fav anime

As for Wing, my ex girlfriend's brother likes it, It's okay I guess.

A lot of people dont like G Gundam, but I really like the love love attack and it started everything on SRW.

I like UC, I like Zeta gundam and I love the OVA like Gundam 0080, I started Zeta Gundam after Gundam Seed since my friend knows a lot about gundam and he was alway into UC. I ask myself, who char aznable was; I checked wikipedia and he was the darth vader of japan and read many good things about him, I found him similiar to Athrun Zala of Gundam Seed, I checked out the opening and found the sunglasses like Athrun Zala aka Char Aznable and said to myself "This is going to be my fav character! he also trained Camille right unlike Shinn/Athrun!". I watched Zeta Gundam and it rocked so much! so much similiarlty to Gundam Seed and Destiny, but it was done right. Afterward I started Char's Counter Attack and then watch Gundam 0079 by downloading it on bittorrent. You can download Gundam 0079 direct download here
http://www.aniweblog.org/2006/08/list-of-anime-downloads.html
You can watch the Zeta Gundam movie here
http://youtube.com/profile?user=kikaider17
I wanted to get my ex into it... I would have if she didnt break up with me -.-.

I watch the OVA next, all of them... and I like 0080 the best, it made my cry when bernie died.

Then I watched ZZ here on crunchyroll, it was okay... I dont like the beginning.

I watch Turn A Gundam next here on crunchyroll, it was pretty good.

Well if everyone is offering their opinions, here I go.

Back when Wing was on TV, I was not impressed. Everyone boasted about its action and whatnot, but as a strict pacifist at the time without cable, I avoided action with the exception of Star Wars. Eventually I did see it and was still not impressed.

Gundam started for me when a friend showed me and my brother the first episode of SEED, it was nice, but didn't really grab me in, though my brother loves SEED and is now very in to 00. My brother eventually borrowed a UC game called Encounters in Space, which I tried to ignore. However, listening to the goings on about Newtypes and the dialog between Amuro, Char, and Lalah felf so authentic, and so real.

From there I simultaneously began my Gundam viewing with 0079, SEED, and the OVAs. All of which I liked. Gundam was just that good. So was SEED, but all of the flashbacks grated on my nerves. With the OVAs, 08th MS team is good though not my favorite. 0083 was one hell of an action flick. Oh yeah, and 0080 actually made me cry.

Next up was Zeta and Wing. I was skeptical about Z at first, though it turned out to be my favorite. As for Wing, I tried to like it, but between the uninspiring cast and senseless melodrama, it bored me for the most part. Though I did like Endless Waltz.

This summer, between breaking up with my girlfriend and changing my college major, I began my vacation long Gundam marathon. First was X, not many series are this human Followed by Turn A, this one is so addicting that I watched 10 episodes in one day. This was followed by ZZ, which unlike most people, I love, even the first 20 episodes. Somewhere in this was G Gundam, which I was sure I was going to hate, yet was surprisingly good.

After all of this, came CCA and F91. CCA was epic pure and simple. F91, I may be brightslapped for this, but it was awesome; not many anime can be that gripping or that violent in the first 15 minutes. Then Victory and MS Igloo. Igloo was good but the formula got old pretty fast. Victory though was so F'd up that I couldn't help but love it.

Currently I am watching 00 and DESTINY. DESTINY started really good, but is now starting to get painful. 00 is good so far but it needs to start taking direction.

Overall, Gundam is a franchise in which every title is worth at least one viewing; however, what causes problems is ignoring the others just because you loved one of them.

And now a tale of love, jeliousy, hate, fear, and destruction.....

It all began in 2000. I was but a wee lad of 9 or 10. Still watching shows like Dragonball Z on Toonami. Then Gundam Wing came on. I was never the same again (or I was, but with a new passion). It grew on me and I wanted more.

2001: The UC gundams came out. At first, The original Gundam didn't seem that good (go back in time and slap the shit out of my wee 10/11 ass). But I gradually did eventually. 8th MS Team came on not long after and I must say it was cool. 0080 came at midnight on Toonami around then as well. I was still too young to understand things, but now, I realized it was the most character driven anime I have ever seen. Then 0083 came out for Adult Swim. It wasn't note worthy really. At leas I didn't think it was.

2002: Char's Counterattack. It was a memorable day indeed when I got the dvd. Few months later was G Gundam. I thought it was a tad iffy at first, but it became interesting later on. Despite what you may think, I enjoyed it like every othe Gundam.

2003: SD Gundam Force. It happened. Let us speak no more of it

2004: By this time, things were dragging. Not much on Toonami anymore. Gundam Seed came on it. And got cut off to Friday at midnight for some reason. I admit it was decent to a point. It caught my eye.

2005: I think this is when I rented F91 on dvd. It was.......disappointing. It was too fast pased and character development.....wasn't there. It would have been better as a series really.

2006: This was roughly when Seed Destiny came out. I am still on this series, but it's more than enough to know that it sux balls. It has potential. Just no motive to go with it. Toward the end of this year was Zeta Gundam. And I must say...... IT WAS THE GREATEST OF ALL THE OTHERS!!!! BWAHAHAHAHAAAA!!!!! *ahem* Yes. It was really good

2007: Still watching Destiny (ho-hum). It seemed that all hope for me finding the remaining series seemed lost. Then someone pointed out this very site. And I got really fucking excited let me tell you.
I wasted no time in watching either. First was ZZ Gundam. Good series, but was dragging at first but grew into the epic it should have been. Then Victory. This was a rare gem indeed. Almost competed with Zeta for the best. Dark. Deep. And a bit of lol factors here and there.
Around that same year started Gundam 00. I must admit it was really good. First season aired and whatnot (a first for Gundam) and had interesting charachters; my favorite still being Allelujah, Graham, and Sumeragi.

2008: Finishing up Destiny (thank God) and got done with the first season of 00. I tried to start X, but.........it just didn't seem that interesting so I skipped to Turn A.
I. FUCKING. LOVE. TURN A. It seemed very original in terms of characters, plot, and mech designs. I doubt any would be as good as that show. And the Turn A's design was badass (FEAR the White Mustache!!!!)
Upon that same year, I watched MS Igloo. Not much to say but the plot was repetitive: guy comes in to test something. Dies at the end. Repeat till the last episode. Now the guy survives. I dunno; I just didn't think it was that engaging.
Also in the same year (2008 was a busy year), the second season of 00 came out. So naturally I pursued to watch.

2009: Gundam 00: BEST FUCKING SHOW TO DATE! Slightly bests Zeta and Turn A by a margin. And that is saying a lot.

Today: looking forward to the Unicorn and 00 movies.Self sured that they both will kick ass. Wondering about the closure to SEED (if there will be one) and planning on watching Igloo 2 shortly......although my hopes of it being good are low at this point, we shall see....

Oh, and MAYBE....maybe I'll get back on X. Maybe.....maybe......................maybe..........

Well watch X and Turn A whenever you get a chance. X gets props for its humanity and overall feel good nature, and no other Gundam is as original or addictive as Turn A. I still remember my Turnathon over the summer.

About Turn A, is Loran annoying in it? Cause he's pissing me off in Gundam Muso and I want to know if he's like that in the show.

Nah, in the show he's very self spoken, polite, and laconic. To sum it all up, he acts like a real gentleman.
