Normal age for period ranges from 8-15, so yeah. Girls are getting them a lot earlier nowadays. There's even news of a 6 year old girl who started smelling like an "adult." D;
I've heard that the fatter you are, the earlier you get it? And the more meat you consume.

okay, so all my female friends first had their periods when they were like 15... but i was 13. theirs last like 3-4 days, but mine lasts 5 days at least. also, many of them use tampons, but i'm kind of scared to use them and it seems dirty. especially if you're not at home while changing your tampon >.< i'm curious what you think about tampons, did you ever use them? and if you did, how old were you? like, have you been using them since the first time or...?

Hmm, well, I was on the skinny side, and I had my first at 12, but then didn't see it again until I was 13/14; I was irregular at first, seeing my period every couple of months or so, then I was having them for 7 days, heavy as hell each and everyday, and twice a month, on the first week, and on the last. This lasted until I was 16, when Mom was basically tired of spending money on pads(I used those suckers UP!), and wasconcerned that I'd get anemia.

So I went to the doc, and though I was iffy on the thought of taking pills, I was won over by the idea of having bigger boobs (yes, the estrogen can help your girls grow; I went from a B cup to a C by the time I started college). Yes tampons are intimidating, I honestly didn't start using them until I was like, wow--don't laugh--25/26, and been in the AF for like, 5 years! I was soooo iffy on tampons, cause I tried the cardboard-application ones, and they did NOT feel so comfortable to use! I use Tampax Pearl now, though since my hubby hates to spend money on a plumber, I use pads at home, and the tampons at work. It's gonna be trial and error finding one that is comfy for you to use, so good luck! I recommend getting the smaller packs and trying them out vs. the 18-20 count and larger; the smaller packs are cheaper.

Pfft... I always get amused when I am told this. It's like a pissing contest about who has it worse. Though I admit it would be pretty bad if I bled off an on for 3-5 days a month and had horrible cramps. >.>

But honestly, I'd trade my body for a girls anyday, period and all...

Okay, well try having something like the size of a bowling ball come out hole the size of a large marble, with no anesthesia, pain killers, or anything(such was the case for me), and be in labor for the better part of 12+ hours (the first 7-8, my goofy ass didn't realize I WAS in labor!) Plus, by the time I had my son, I had been up for a day solid, and in pain for 17 of those hours, feeling like somebody's kicking the hell out of the bottom of my stomach and twisting it all the while. Not to mention I had the threat of being a diabetic for the rest of my life due to the gestational diabetes I had(but still...give me that over preeclampsia anyday!). Some women have preeclampsia, have to have C-sections to save them both, a number of things can go wrong. But once the baby comes, it's all worth it...

Sorry about the rant, but be careful what you wish for! And let's not forget that one's stuff may have to be stitched up because the baby can tear things on the way out! Kinda surreal for me seeing my doc with a needle and thread--and I know she wasn't stitching up a quilt!

I am 19 almost 20. In my whole life, I have never used a tampon. It depends on different people. I usually use a pad because I do not have to worry about getting infections or anything such as that. Haha my period came when I was 13 in the bk bathroom.

I used a tampon for the first time when i was in like the 6th grade but it was one of those giant ones that you get from the nurses office and omg it hurt like hell. I don't really use tampons that much,i only use them if its like on my last day and I'm going to the beach or something. I don't really think tampons are gross, what really gross's me out are diva cups. Those are gross
