"Let’s Play A Game…”
Up until then, everything had been unreal, like a night-stalking game. To come out of the darkness now would be the time to show courage of a type that he’d never even known about. He didn’t realize he’d be so scared, yet now, crouched up in a tight corner, stuck in a worn down cottage, and in the middle of the woods caused even more fears to run down his back. All he could really do was to stare out the broken up window, its glass frame shattered as if someone had thrown a brick at it. The glass pieces surrounded the area just below the window.
Something must be behind the trees; hiding beneath its branches that were filled with leaves to the point even a person who went for a small walk could not find their way home. No light was able to seep through the thick trees. “Damn it,” He found himself muttering under his breath. He knew he saw something move behind the trees, and if that person or thing knew he was here, he was done for. He had to get out of there.
A shadow was seen, the moonlight had managed to cast it even through the thick woods. It was hard to tell if it was human or not though, but the single light source was all he probably needed if it all went wrong. He took in a small, yet quick and quiet breath before silencing himself, pulling into a tight ball, hoping for him not to be seen. He chose not to move in fear of being caught.
“You can’t hide from me, you know that, Zack?” The shadow stopped right at the window, not even peering through it to try to find him. “But if you can’t find her soon…”
He felt something slowly wrap around him, immunizing him.
“Now…will you play with me, Mister?”
He had no choice. He strained his eyes to see the young girl beside the other figure. Blood shot eyes stared at him, he could barely read the smile on her face. It almost seemed as if…he could die from her, anytime this moment. she could see right through him. Seeing his fast paced heart beat, the fear that surrounded body.
“Yay! He’s going to play with me, brother!”
That was all he had heard, the sight of the young girl’s smirking face was last flashed into his head.
--
“Gah,” He held onto his head, a painful headache raging through as his vision became clear.
It was bright as if the sun itself was in the room. It took him awhile to realize it was just a warm fire, and to notice a note was posted onto the wall. A digital wrist watch was taped next to it, slowly counting down starting from 2:00. One hour and thirteen minutes now. He walked over to it, immediately reading the note;
Ah, so you finally woken up! I was going to think you were going to waste your time sleeping. It’s time to show what you learned from Mikage! There’s something hidden in this house, can you find it? Can you find this item in the time limit?
“Hidden in this room?” He held a bizarre look and continued reading the note;
P.S. Did you know, something is broken in this room? I think you just broke it a few seconds ago. Maybe this will help you out on the search.
Thoughts ran through his head as he looked around the enclosed room. He had broken something already? After taking the watch and putting it around his wrist. No doors, no windows, just plain white walls with a bright light at the center like a fire. The sound of its crackles came into contact with his ears. ‘Silence!’
At that moment, he muttered out a silent spell just as Mikage had taught him and the fire was put out, enclosing himself in the darkness. He stood there, waiting. It was then he heard a soft trickling sound behind the wall in front of him, like a soft rain fall.
“Kufufu…”
He silently took a few steps forward, knowing someone was behind the wall. Just as his finger tips touched the wall in front, where he had heard the water drops. The wall in front disappeared, and he had fallen.
“You fell for something like this so easily? Kufufu…”
That voice he heard annoyed him deeply. He knew who it was, in fact, it was the person who cornered him and brought that little girl to play this game. This was the reason why his life was in danger now that he had fallen against the wood-made stage.
“It looks like you fell for the first trap already! That’s so sad…”
A voice was speaking to him this time, sounding just like the little girl he saw before. “She did say a game…” He trailed off, noticing how he had landed on a stage.
“But this time, can you beat my Reborn?”
He was in complete confusion. Reborn? What? He did a quick double check around the area to see no one. Until he was pulled into immediate shock, a little boy, he assumed was Reborn, laid across the floor just out the front of the stage. He’s shirt was stained in a deep red color to the point Zack couldn’t tell the difference between the floorings and the baby. Wide, shocked, and completely dull eyes stared at him. The boy’s mouth was just barely open as if he was trying to scream before being killed.
“Z-…ack…”
Zack was shocked to see the boy slowly get up, a maniac laughter echo-ed through the stage.
“Say, Zack, if you haven’t noticed. You have only fifty six minutes left ~?”
He didn’t understand how he was supposed to even battle something that looked so undead. So unrealistic to him, yet he knew he had to try. He tightened the gloves on his hand and looked at the young boy.
The boy smirked and just seemed to have disappeared from sight.
Zack could barely see beyond three yards from him. The boy he saw just a few seconds ago was just barely in the three yard range. “W-…Where did he go?!” Zack muttered. He felt a tap on his shoulder, causing him to turn around in more of a twitch, frightened movement.
“Are you scared?”
He had guessed that was Reborn who had spoken. He held his arms up in a protective stance, ready for a blow if Reborn were to attack. But just as soon as he sensed someone was coming at him, it was too late…if the person was actually there to kill him.
“That’s so sad, you can’t even defeat Reborn,” The voice had spoken. Zack had realized that the voice before was not the young boy, Reborn. It must have been this person, a feminine voice with a hidden secret behind it. It was like she was speaking with a task at mind, maybe not to kill him, maybe not to help him, but with a thought of life or death for her. “He didn’t seem to attack that much too,” He heard her shift into his sight of view.
She held a ghastly figure as if she was a real ghost and not real. She was so faint; it was hard for him to tell if it was a she.
“I tell you this now…Reborn will come back. But you have passed the second test, continue on through the doors right behind me,” Her voice suddenly became shaky. It was easier to tell she was more of a ghost than ever. It was soft and it easily traveled with the wind. It sent chills down his back as he quickly ran around her and towards the now seen door.
“Thank...you?” He turned around to see the girl gone.
--
“Brother, I think we found someone fun to play with this time! ♥” The little girl grinned as she watched the monitor, holding onto his sleeve as they watched Zack ran down the hallways, gasping for air every once in awhile. A confused and frustrated look stuck to him like glue as he turned every hall, looking exactly like the one before. Its room labeled the same, its furniture the same, in the same place, to the point of the smallest centimeter, there were no difference. It was a giant maze that no one could get out of.
“I just hope he doesn’t upset us in the end.”

*it looks so much better in double space form :C !
