I'm a college student with a reasonably fast internet connection and have recently been plagued with horrific buffering issues while using my premium membership on Crunchyroll.
I've been a premium member for a while now and used Crunchyroll on many IPs, including the one I'm now on, and never had a problem until about a week ago.

Videos take a while to load, then it will start, play for 1 second, stop for a while, play for another second, stop for a while, etc. If I keep it paused for about 30 minutes, I can come back and it will stream throughout fine. So it's obviously a buffering problem.

If I choose a lower resolution, the wait time is less but no less atrocious.

I've tried the steps of installing / reinstalling / uninstalling / etc. of Flash, my browsers, my java, etc. All I.E., Firefox and Chrome have the same problem.
I've tried accessing the content on four different computers, all reasonably powerful, and come-up with the same problem.
So I've come to believe it's a networking problem.
I've tried other streaming sites and I don't find any problems with other sites.
And Crunchyroll DID work fine about 2 weeks ago! Really makes me sad because I use this great service as a momentary recollection of my sanity in-between the outrageous homework and studying sessions I'm faced with right now! :(

Anyways, here's the information needed from me to diagnose the problem:
Any help is much appreciated!
Thanks again.

Hmm. I haven't had any problems with streaming, I'm using currently the internet at my husbands house. I do have a problem with sound not loading sometimes though. It could be ur ISP. I remember I was using my internet at home a few months ago and it was having all sorts of issues(very slow, loss of connection a lot, etc.) for over a month. If it's ur ISP u can't really do anything about it. There were a few times the internet at my university had all sorts of issues.

I've been running into the same thing. I've watched at work, home, friends house. Each have different ISPs. It's always weird buffering issues. There are also times when i can not even get a video to start playing with out refreshing the page 20 or 30 times by switching back and forth between the different resolutions.

As well i've noticed that videos will random jump directly to the end and go to the next. If i go back and go to like 5 seconds before it did that and pause the stream for about a minute it will continue on just fine. If i don't go that far back and pause it just repeated jumps to the end. It's like there is a damaged frame thats sent through the stream and player can't handle it and thinks it's done.

This is an issue i have been having this weekend as well. It is not related to my internet as I have no issues with hulu or youtube. although for me it does tend to be in the later part of the afternoon to early evening 3pm -8pm pst.

This exact problem started happening to me about 3 hours ago. I have never had a problem before, on this or any other network. I did go through the checklist, clearing all my caches, even switching my DNS. None of this worked so I am forced to assume that the problem lies with Crunchyroll, not me.

I started getting this problem yesterday as well. For me it is a DNS issue.

My Desktop and my Ipad played videos without problems and no buffering. But when I went to go watch an episode on my PS3 I ran into the buffering problem. Both the website and videos took forever to load. And once the video did load it would play for a second, then pause, then play for another second, pause again, ect....

I remembered that I have my desktop and my ipad setup to use Google's free DNS server but I had not setup my PS3 to use Google's DNS servers. It was using Timewarner's own DNS servers. I changed my PS3 to use Google's DNS server and both the website and videos loaded up very fast with no buffering issue.

For those who want to try Google's DNS server their server address is 8.8.8.8 for the primary and 8.8.4.4 for the secondary. (Extremely easy to remember IP address')

EDIT: And too double check, I just went ahead and changed my Desktop's DNS server back to Timewarner's and tried to load a video. It sat there at a black screen for a minute before finally loading the first second of video before pausing. So it seems it is definitely a DNS issue for me. Hopefully my fix works for everyone else.

This just started happening to me a couple of hours ago.

It does not seem to effect every video though. Gintama 133 did not load properly so I skipped that arc. 136 and 137 loaded without issue. 138 did not.

The same has been happening to me lately too. I'm able to watch videos on other websites just fine, but when I try to view them on my premium account they don't buffer/load. It's getting quite annoying because I really want to watch anime in the 720p that they offer here and that I pay for.

Well, I remember that one of the crunchy officials said somewhere, not to use OpenDNS, because you get problems with that.

Edit: Tried out and switched to google DNS and still get the buffering problems.

Please use the following thread to post about buffering problems.
http://www.crunchyroll.com/forumtopic-627053/help-with-recent-video-playback-problems

I updated the first post so, even if you previously performed some network tests, you will need to run the new tests since we're using a new service provider.
