Living in Falsehood Illusions
Posted 1/11/08 , edited 4/18/08
Well put it this way, when everyone else knows something except me, I get reeeally annoyed. I'm always the last to find out something...its not nice.

If someone had an illness and they didn't know, but everyone else did, I think it would be kind of...nice.. to keep it from them, because they can go on living a normal life, if they knew they had certain amounts of days to live they would get scared. Or they might be a strong person and accept their fate, and do everything they've ever wanted to do before they...well y'know...

Its really difficult...I would consider telling them right away, but if I know they wont be able to take it...then I wont.

anyways, some people are lucky enough not to experience this, but how would u feel if u found out that what u were living is was a lie? what if someone knew u had cancer, but no one told u, that u did have cancer? that is only one example, but how would u feel? and what are some that u are dealing with, or that u can think of?

they say ignorance is bliss, well is it? what if u lost that ignorance? the truth is painful sometimes, so sometimes we avoid it, but its even worse as lies build up.

just wondering what yer guys perspective is

*touch nose* di-did this happen to you?? >_O don't mean to be nosy...

i don't think my life is a lie... who knows it can be... honestly i'm a liar... so if my life ended up a lie...i'll be ready for it.

Yes, not knowing the truth can be sort of, well, bliss. But somehow one way or another the truth will finally come to you. Life can't be bliss forever. Isn't it better to know the truth earlier, and make amends to it, rather than knowing the truth when it's too late, and regretting, doesn't it hurt more?

About the phrase ''ignorance is bliss'', in my point of view, I actually don't see how the two are directly related. In fact, the phrase actually relates very complicatedly. Because to me, the truth hurts, but not every single time. Example, the truth brings justice to light.

It's best to handle the truth rather than keeping it inside you because eventually the burden will become heavier.

We should live life without regrets, right?

Nice to see a topic of yours Hawtdawggy I like your ones Right seriously now.. I will always like to be told the truth straight out as even though it may hurt at first its better than lying to yourself in the long-run... take the cancer example... if nobody tells you, you have cancer because they dont want to scare you. .then you may die.. but if you are told then although you will be upset at first you may still get cured..

I feel the same.
I want to know the truth, but at the same time I don't...because it would hurt.
But after it's all over and done with, you can attempt to make the best of it...
...or even, try to fix the damage.

It all depends on the person and situation.

Ignorace is bliss after all. If say the world were going to end instantaneously a week from now, you would probably be able to enjoy your last days more being oblivious to that fact than not. It really depends on the situation but i do believe that somethings are kept disclosed for the better.

I may not want to know the truth..
But it's easier to know that than lies that eventually fail.

acutally the truth HURTS thats why there are secrets so the truth can be postponed until the person concerned is ready to accept the truth
