Living in Falsehood Illusions
Posted 1/17/08 , edited 4/18/08
Hmmm ... there are times when ignorance is a bliss but there are times when you should just tell the truth .
You may never know the outcome when you do either one . There are times when you told but you shouldn`t have and there are times when you shouldn`t have .
But then there`s this : principle of methodical doubt . Why should you believe what that person says ? Anything could be a lie .

If you wanna lie , go ahead and lie but don`t show an ounce or even a tiny bit of truth .
If you`re going to tell the truth , say the whole thing , not just a part of it .
Both hurts and all we can do is accept it . If you`re unsure of what to do , whether to tell or not to tell ask yourself this :
If I was in his / her shoes , would I want to know the truth or would I want to be left innocent to the truth ?

ignorance is bliss because the truth is hell painful! but then again, pain make one stronger. truth is a necessity, it is inevitable.
I'd say i like and dislike illusions... i guess it would depend on the situation. If it has something to do with life or death I'd want to know the truth. if it's religion, love or anything to do with emotions... i guess I'd like it to be kept the way i understand it even if my understanding turns out to be false.

Like most people say I would rather know the truth than be told a few days before I die that I have cancer or some other life changing disease. I would probably see the world in a different light, appreciating the little things more and of course spending more money on holidays and what not.

I've always thought it is better to know the truth and cope with it. Some people are strong enough to move forward with what they have and others aren't. Knowing the truth helps you to gain experience with how to deal with situations, where as lies will give you false impressions with how to deal with situations presented to you.

I remember a few months into my relationship with the bf I'm with now, he confessed to me that he had once fooled around with this girl in the classroom while the rest of the class was watching a movie (dont ask how they got away with it -___-;). The girl (who was sort of a friend of mine) was the type to fool around with many guys and I was angry and disgusted that he'd done something so stupid with this sort of girl. I had no right to be angry because we weren't even dating at the time but I couldnt get myself to believe that.
Although my boyfriend's confession nearly gave me a heart attack, I believe it was beneficial in a way. It helped me to understand him as a person who wanted to show how close he wanted to be with me and how much trust he had (still has) in our relationship as well as in me even though I judged him too quickly

The truth hurts, sure but life isnt always going to be all about beer and skittles. You gotta suck it up and take it. I'd rather face the hard, ugly truth than have a pretty and yet painful lie.

If there was nothing that could be done to save me from impending death, I would prefer to not know.

"What did you give, what would you offer to be given wisdom?
Are you glad, and does your soul rest in your wide learning?
Just which horrors lie ahead you did not know it then?
knowledge,
It can darken minds like clouds, the shining sun from above, the earth"

just a bit of norse mythology for you guys

anyways, i'd prefer not knowing my fate. the dread i would feel would cripple my mind and render me useless until the day my fate was reached.
