Common sense is relative to the subsets you belong to in life. Since everyone on the planet doesn't belong to the same cultural, religious, academic, professional or other societal groupings then there is definitely no universal "common sense". Someone considered to have exceptional common sense for a citizen of New York city might be the dumbest mofo on the proverbial block if they suddenly moved to a tribal village along the Amazon. For that reason, I don't know if it is accurate to say that common sense is missing these days. It seems much more accurate to say that more people are appearing not to have any these days due to our increased technology and the instant global interactions that are spawned by it.

Actually, these days it's called hindsight.

It's always 20/20.

I'm not sure if you're joking or not. Hindsight is the opposite of common sense. Common sense comes before. Hindsight comes after.

Yes. That was a joke.

Common sense seems to be dead most of the time, and has been replaced by stupidity.

From my personal experiences, I have learned that common sense is uncommon.

everyone needs to be ignorant in order to learn

Maybe it's considered "common" because it can be found in every person (supposedly,) and not in the sense that everyone uses it, which they don't. 0_o Or maybe people just tell others it's common so that they'll feel left out when not acting..sensible.

common sense isn't very common- it's a paradox in itself... they say ignorance is bliss, so i suppose most people like to be ignorant then >.<

common sense is another myth, an ideal we aim for

Common sense is dead, people should be more worried about keeping critical thinking alive.
