I like goths, but I have trouble with cutter emo's. I also like punk, but with punks it's easy to be a wannabe punk so I don't like that.

I FREAKIN LOVE FREAKS.

I'm not really any of what you listed, i'm just a dork who likes to act cool sometimes to meet other chill people, but that doesn't stop me from liking them

Are you punk/goth?

GET YOUR FREAAAAAKK ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! GONNA BE HARDCORE TONIGHT!!!!!! BFTRAAAAAAAAAAAh

that's the pop culture 'freak' slang. Kinda of... Pretty much anybody who isn't a part of mainstream society and wears dark clothing with chains/spikes, ect.

A freak can also be used to call a promiscuous person who sleeps with punk/goth band members in order to put them in a better standing of notoriety.

At least that's how it is where i'm from.

Do I live in upsidedown world? because where I'm from emo's don't cut, the preppy kids do.

Goth, punk and emo I like the styles. And I have no problem with them whatsoever. My own style is a somewhat mix of the three

(But what really gets to me are my wannabe otaku cousin who can't tell the difference between naturto and bleach. She thinks that just because she's watched one anime she's some kind of expert. And she thinks she can hate punk and still be a punker )

Freak - Too vague and subjective to mean much. As one of my favorite quotes says: "Everybody is somebody else's wierdo." What I consider normal you might consider freaky and visa versa. To each his own. "Do what you want to do and say what you want to say because those who care don't matter and those who matter don't care."

Emo - Is mostly guys who wear makeup and are sad and depressed to pretend to be emotional and vulnerable so girls like them, kinda like being gay or metro sexual with the added benifit of actually dating girls. Emo girls are pretty much just girls who like the emo look, but girls should naturally be emo anyway. The personality has always existed, just nowadays it has a look as well.

Punks - Street kids, hooligans, troublemakers... etc. Unless you are talking punk rockers then you get the look as well: crazy haircuts, crazy hair colors, leather, spikes, and good music. There is modern punk too which has a more grunge/skater look to it. Again a vague one unles you point out which you are asking about... the definition of the word, the look, or the music especially when you can belong to one and none of the others.

Goths - Black. Black clothes, dark personality, dark and usually heavy music. Goth girls make my little heart go pitter-patter. :)

wannabes - Anyone who proffesses to belong to a certain group or like a certain thing, but is trying to blend in rather than actually understand the subculture. They usually have the basic look of a fan/member and know the buzzwords, but have no idea what they mean. ie: Someone who claims to be an Anime Otaku but only knows old 80's anime that was shown in the states and anime shown on Adult Swim. If they didn't make the false claim they were otaku and didn't talk like they were experts then they'd just be low level fans and no one would mind. It's when they start getting pretentious that they become annoying and get labeled wannabes. Reference Song: In Bloom by Nirvana.
That in mind, some people in a group are just outright snobs and will label anyone not already in the group a wannabe, when instead the people who are just lightly into that subculture should be nurtured and converted into true fans.
