Ehlerdahl is the southern pole of Jahan. The icy wasteland is generally left alone but a few missions and colonies have established settlements there, including the famous Tower of Babel, whose origins are unknown.

Castor looked out at the assembled armies of werewolves from the top of the tower the beasts had built in the name of the Faith. He turned to face Pol sitting atop the stone altar.
"It is time to begin," he said as he leapt over and handed Pol a stoppered vial. Pol held it over the stone and poured the clear concentrated mana into the center of the design.
The stone began to glow a blood red and the tower shook as raw mana flowed through cracks in the stone and along channels in the floor. The mana continued to travel through the channels until the entire tower was covered in glowing lines. The armored werewolves howled as one and stood ready to guard the tower.

(After the teleportation)

Lamina moaned out of pain, but forced herself to sat up on the stony and icy ground. As she was sitting in the vertical her head began to pound like hell and when she opened her eyes her vision got blurry and her sense of balance was still not restored. Whatever was going on it seemed like it helped her and Setsuna getting out of a problematic situation with some brainless golems and their insane scientist-master. By the way.....

"Setsuna! Where are you?" The wind was cold and blew through the Weaper´s clothes; it made her shiver. Wobbling, Lamina looked around the area, looking for the man with her sword. She found him on an iced rock several meters away, rolling from one side to the other. Summoning a sword to lean on it she walked to Kyle and knelt beside him and felt relief when saw his eyelids opened hesitantingly. He too looked at if his vision wasn´t right. But that´s the only thing he got from this teleportation while I got knocked out completely and have a monstrous headache afterwards.

"Hey Lamina. Did you kick the ass of your client? And this sword I got from you was quite awesome, you know?" Setsuna stood up, shook his head and looked around him. "Well, may I ask where we landed here?"

"I´m not really sure but I assume we are in Ehlerdahl or near it. At least I´m sure we aren´t in Umoba and are miles away of this freaking scientist." Lamina took the legendary sword and let it disappear. Then she again looked Kyle in the eyes. "And I have to say your teleportation ability saved us some trouble there." A smile formed on her lips.

Setsuna just made a confused expression. "What do you mean by that?"

A cold wind blew that made them both shiver.
"Ehlerdhal..." Setsuna rolled the word back and forth on his tongue but it wasn't familiar.
"It's like an artic wasteland," he said as they stood up and looked around.
"Think you can take us back?" Lamina asked but from his confused expressions she guessed they'd be stuck here a while.
"Ah, well. Don't stress yourself out, we'll find a way back. Till then we need to find somewhere warm to stay." Lamina said and summoned a staff for Kyle to use.
Kyle accepted thankfully and they began to wander through the cold.

After a couple of hours, Setsuna spotted something that looked like smoke. Lamina disagreed, brushing it off as just snow but Setsuna was determined. With no destination anyways, they decided to head towards what was either fire or a frosty mirage. To their luck, Setsuna was right. It had been smoke, smoke coming from a chimney. In the middle of nowhere was what looked like an old, abandoned military bunker. Lamina knocked on the door.
The door slid open a crack. An eye peered at the freezing newcomers.
"Excuse me, we're cold and would appreciate-" Lamina began.
The inhabitant closed the door.
"How dare he!" cursed Lamina, her calm facade being barred by the freezing pain.
As Lamina was about to cuss, she and Setsuna heard a click. Lamina then realized her mistake. The person had not shut the door to keep them out but rather had closed the door to unfasten the chair.
The door opened all the way. A dark blue haired man in a priest outfit was the only person inside. He herded Lamina and Setsuna over to the fireplace. As the two warmed up their cold bodies, the man fetched blankets so they could wrap themselves up. He also found old snowsuits for them to put on later when they decided to leave. After making everyone hot tea, the man finally sat down himself. Lamina was about to introduce herself when the man stopped her.
"As host, it would be impolite to have you introduce yourselves first," declined the man respectively. "I am Father Dio of the Shiseiten."
"Shiseiten?" asked Setsuna.
"It means 'Four Saintly Heavens'. It's a title given to the priest in charge of a temple dedicated to one of the five elements: fire, wood, earth, water, and metal."
"That's five, not four," noted Lamina.
"Originally there was only four," said Dio. "According to legends, the original Shiseiten were actually called 'Guardians', beings who had mastery over their respective elements. However, a yellow drake known as Si Ling warred against them. Eventually, Si Ling and the guardians ended their feud. In honor of their opponent peacefully surrendering, they made Si Ling a Shiseiten. However, the Guardians no longer hold their posts as Shiseiten. Now it's only me, Vejo, Zero, Catherine, and Max." He sipped some of his tea. "So, why are a couple of underdressed explorers in this part of the world?"
Lamina and Setsuna told about themselves, including Setsuna's amnesia (which Dio said his memories would return over time, much to Setsuna's annoyance over that overly repeated bit of advice), and how they got here.
"Well, it's good thing I decided to make base here until my boat's fixed," said Dio. "Otherwise you may have missed this place."
"You have a boat?"
"Yeah, it's at the harbor over by the Babel Tower. Though I have noticed some strange activity around there lately. I didn't think werewolves liked the cold. Well, their commander, Sirius, sure has a cold heart," he joked. "Well, it should be fixed by tomorrow. If you want, you can come with me. You're also free to stay here as long as you like."

"We don´t know for sure what we want and where to go yet. But we thank you for your invitation."
Lamina and Setsuna cuddled themselves deeper into the blankets. Their bodies got warmed up for quite a time but they enjoyed the warmth when they had freezed for more than an hour. They haven´t yet decided what to do and if they really wanted to go back. At least Lamina didn´t knew it.
Even though it seemed like she and Kyle came here by accident, she believed that there was some reason to come here. There was only the question Why?

Dio provided them with warm clothes.

Setsuna donned on the thick layers gratefully, "About your boat, you said it will be "fixed"...?"Setsuna said looking at Dio questioningly.

"Oh that, well yes. I hit it on an ice berg. Damn thing nearly took my boat out. That's why I prefer flying."

"You can fly?" Lamina asked and Dio shrugged, "For the most part. Well let's drink up our coffees and head out. You two can help me."

"Sure," Lamina said as she drank the coffee.

An hour later the stood on a hill, trying to keep warm as a chilly wind blew. "You see that?" Dio said and both Setsuna and Lamina nodded.
Hordes of werewolves stood in front of a tall tower, guarding it.
"Makes you wonder what they got hiding inside." Dio said.

OCC: Moments before Castor and Pol activate the Tower of Babel

"What do you think they're hiding?" asked Lamina.
"Hard to say," said Dio.
As they began to walk towards the harbor, Dio, Lamina, and Setsuna felt a strong resonance of energy from the Tower of Babel. Lines formed on the exterior of the tower. The mana coming from the structure was immense.
"What's going on?!" panicked Setsuna.
"Impossible, he wouldn't!" stammered Dio, as if something had dawned on him.
"Do you know what's going on?" asked Lamina.
"It's a weapon made by an exiled Shiseiten: Max Weber."
"And what does this weapon do?" asked Setsuna.
"We don't want to find out."
Dio unbuckled the object strapped to his back. He unwrapped it to reveal a giant cross, the cross Cieli. He pointed it at the werewolves.
"Sorry to drag you into this but I could really use some help," said Dio. "The Tower of Babel must not reach full power."
An opening at the bottom of the cross slid open. Dio pushed down on one of the many jewels that decorated Cieli. A missile fired from the cross and struck a watchtower that stood near the Tower of Babel.

"Whats going on?" Lamina said. "What does the tower do?"
"Long story short. It draws on the mana in the atmosphere. If the tower reaches full power catastrophe will break out and many will be killed." Dio said as his cross charged up.
"I'll distract the werewolves, you two enter and destroy that tower."
"How?" Setsuna said.
"Get creative, we don't have time to waste. " Dio said impatiently.
Lamina and Setsuna looked at each other then at Dio, "Okay,"Lamina said.
***
Lamina and Kyle climbed down the hill and waited as Dio fired at the werewolves, distracting the beasts. They howled and raged towards Dio, giving the two time to make their way towards the tower unnoticed.

The two warriors looked up at the giant walls of the Tower of Babel. Lamina and Kyle walked around the entire tower in search for an entry or a hidden passage to enter this montrosity while Dio still distracted the werewolves, giving the both of them a chance to sneak into the building. Something they should do better sooner than later.

Kyle stopped and panted heavily. "Wait, Lamina. It´s the second time we run around and there isn´t even a crack a mouse could crawl in. How are we supposed to stop this weapon Dio spoke about?"
The Weaper turned around to Setsuna who leaned on the staff she gave him. She too was a bit frustrated, but Lamina figured it wouldn´t be so easy. But there HAD to be a way into the tower.
"I believe in the saying ´The stars´ll lead us the way´. There´ll surely be something we can do." Lamina looked at the sky with the Babel´s Tower.

Suddenly she began to grin and laughed. Setsuna looked at her confused. Maybe she has lost it now. Before he could say something Lamina summoned many swords which flew right into the stone of the wall behind him. When he looked up he saw that the swords had formed some kind of stairs which led to a small window more than fifteen meters above them. "Our entry ticket I´d say." Kyle still looked at the wall but answered. "Not bad."

When they had climbed through the window they looked around and found -to their surprise- a room set up for -at least two- children. "Okay, that´s the last thing I imagined to discover in a tower surrounded by murderous werewolves."
Lamina again looked around, here forehead wrinkled. "There is something odd about this place. It can´t be that there would live normal kids while there is a powerful, destructive weapon inside this here. There has to be a reason for this."

"Castor, there are two people...." "....who broke into the tower, Pol." "The Prophet won´t like this.." "...won´t like this."

Kyle and Lamina turned around fast and looked into the faces of twins at the age of 7 or 8.

Dio smacked Cieli into the face of another werewolf. Just as two more were about to attack, someone gave a roaring order to stop. Werewolves parted to let their commander, Sirius, by. The patron werewolf looked pissed.
"I recognize you," said Sirius. "You're an associate of His Holiness, a Shiseiten."
"Dio di Eresia," Dio introduced himself as.
"Why you do attack us? I ask you."
"Because it's wrong."
Dio raised Cieli into the air and fired a flare.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Who are you?" demanded Lamina.
"He's Castor," said Pol, pointing at his twin.
"And he's Pol," said Castor, pointing at his twin.
"And you've..."
"...just walked into..."
"...our playground!" they both ended together.
The walls began to melt away. Sight. Hearing. Smell. Senses began to blur. Synesthesia began to form. Lamina and Setsuna felt like they might get sick. Lamina materialized a dagger and threw it at the twins. The weapon went through Pol.
"Why are you...." said Pol's voice behind them.
"...throwing over there?" finished Castor's voice from behind them.
Setsuna and Lamina turned to see Castor and Pol behind them as well, along with them still standing in their original spots.
What magic is this? wondered Setsuna.

"Mirage?" Lamina said, her eyes narrowed.
Setsuna turned so he was facing one set while, Lamina faced the other.
"Let's play hide and seek," Caster said from behind Kyle.
"Yes!" Pol said from in front of him.

"We'll count to ten, after that we're coming to get you,"
"Annoying little-" Lamina threw knives at them and the knives passed through them and another set appeared.
"Be careful, now there are six of us to catch you, " giggles resounded around them.
"1..2..."
Kyle grabbed Lamina's hand and ran.
"You're not really playing that game are you?" she said exasperatedly as she ran.
"We can use this time to find out about this tower," he said as he pulled her behind a pillar.
"We're coming," 3 sets of Caster and Pol ran in every direction.

Lamina materialized a dagger in each hand and threw them at the nearest pair. The throwing knives went through Castor and Pol. Upon attacking that pair, a new pair appeared in front of them. This pair of twins were using their combined might to hold a chain gun.
"You tag someone by touching them..." said Pol.
"... but if you want to play it that way..." said Castor.
"...we'll do the same!"
Castor and Pol pulled the trigger. A rain of bullets whizzed by Lamina and Setsuna. Lamina and Setsuna hid behind a pillar. Setsuna noted that the bullets seemed to not affect the pillars.
"They're illusions," concluded Setsuna.
Setsuna moved from behind the pillar. A gunshot echoed throughout the Tower of Babel. He looked down to see blood staining his clothes. However, it wasn't his blood.
It was Lamina's.
Pol had snuck over to them with a pistol and had shot Lamina in the head.

Lamina looked at the body which looked like hers, but wasn´t. At first she and Setsuna had run through the corridors of the tower and then she saw Setsuna hide behind a pillar with someone who looked like her, with their backs turned to the Weaper. And when Setsuna moved away from the pillar she got a glimpse of metal in the hand of her imposter, raising her arm, preparing to attack her friend.

As fast as she could, Lamina summoned a black dagger in her right hand, swirled around and threw it at the woman aiming for her head. But all of a sudden the sound of a gunshot rang in the air and instead of a dagger; a hole decorated the temple of the imposter. Setsuna stared at the body that lay to his feet.

He turned around and faced her with a furious expression like she was someone other than Lamina. When she looked down on her clothes she noticed something like a second skin. It was a transparent layer, but she could clearly recognize it as the figure of one of the twins. In her hand a translucent gun pointed on a point where the fake-Lamina had stood just moments ago.

Oh shit. You have to fucking be kidding me! Oh God, please spare me.

Her friend raised the staff and let out a loud scream while he started attacking her. Because she didn´t want to hurt her friend, Lamina just defended herself but Setsuna was very skilled in fighting so she had a hard time. In the end she had no choice but to let the staff disappear in his hand.

“You have killed her, you monster! I´ll let you pay for it, for sure.” He shouted.
Lamina wanted to say to him that she wasn´t what she looked like but her voice and her words were different. “The woman lost the game. I caught her and that´s what happens to the loser.”
In her mind Lamina let out a bunch of curses and wished to find a way out of this misery.
