Mobile Site requires Adobe Flash. I think Android is the only mobile platform that supports Adobe Flash. Though there have been talks of using Silverlight down the road. If we do support Silverlight in the future, I think you will then be able to use our mobile site, granted that it's updated to support Silverlight.

Windows Phone 7 will most likely be the next smartphone platform that we support. We were supposed to get a Windows Phone 7 device from Microsoft months ago but they still haven't sent us it. So we keep bugging them about it but continue to work on other projects.

From what I've been reading, it should be pretty simple - here's some info http://blogs.iis.net/vsood/archive/2010/12/04/iis-smooth-streaming-encoding-for-windows-phone-7.aspx

Also, I'd imagine that it shouldn't be hard to sit on top of the m.crunchyroll.site - though the phone by default won't play those videos - supposedly flash is coming this summer.

However, Silverlight is already here, which is likely why Netflix was so quick to the draw, since their web player uses Silverlight.

What about H264? The Zune player app will play H264 by default very nicely. I'm not sure how the YouTube apps are working, but there are a couple different varieties of them and they support HQ streams which look pretty nice (for YouTube).

Posting from my Samsung focus actually, would totally love to see a Crunchyroll app in the future once I'm not living in bum**** nowhere where all I have is edge that only lets me text and make/receive calls IF I am lucky.

Take your time with the app and make it as solid as the one for IOS IMHO.

I am still rocking an iPhone 4 currently, but I am thinking of a possible switch over to Windows Phone 7 (specifically the HD7S from HTC)... so I am hoping CrunchyRoll gets on the development soon.... O_O

Samsung Focus user here. Would definitely love to have the ability to watch Crunchyroll on the go. It would make time on the cardio machines at the gym go by so much faster.

Well, if I do switch to a Windows Phone (probability still high), and still no app exists, I'll be cancelling my service here, unfortunately. I know Hulu is working on an app, so that's covered. But, so far all I've heard from CR is , "We're waiting for MS to send us a phone"... not very reassuring to your customer base. >_>

Wish Microsoft would make that happen. I don't really see myself switching to any other platform in the near future and I'm still waiting for the WP7 Crunchyroll app. Maybe we'll be able to use the standard mobile site once the Mango update comes through and gives us HTML 5 support through the mobile version of IE9? Still would prefer the actual though. Git 'er dun!

BTW, glad to see several others are enjoying this platform like I am. My only disappointment is the lack of certain features from the get go that should've been in place. Hope we get a big enough userbase of subscribes for Crunchyroll to find this a viable platform to develop for.

Well, I actually just bought a Nexus S (unlocked) with AT&T 3G bands from mobilecityonline. Since I bought off contract, I still have an upgrade available for AT&T, but I am planning to use it to buy a Windows Phone 7 device this coming fall when Nokia releases their phones with the Mango update. O_O

I only bought the Android phone because I was sort of curious to try it out, and vanilla Android is supposed to be the best. I also have an iPhone 4 (32GB), and a 3gS (16GB). I'm sort of a phone person. X3

But yeah, Crunchy, get a Windows Phone app by the fall please. ^_______________^

I am so switching from an iPhone 3GS to a (off contract) Samsung Focus. Add me to the list of users who want to see a WP7 app! I would also like to see a PS3 app so I don't have to use the PS3 browser.

CR folks...you can buy a used WP7 off eBay for $200.00. Just take the plunge and buy one instead of waiting for MS. Heck may lbe a CR subscriber would be willing to trade their phone for monthly credit.

We still don't have a WP7 device but, at this point, it's more about having the available time to work on it which we don't have right now since we're working on a lot of things. But WP7 is something we will support when we have the time.
