We still don't have a WP7 device but, at this point, it's more about having the available time to work on it which we don't have right now since we're working on a lot of things. But WP7 is something we will support when we have the time.

Sweet, glad to hear it. Can't wait to get it and watch CR during my breaks at work.
http://create.msdn.com/en-US/. I'm still an amateur programmer but I like to browse the MSDN site for any info and they have a lot of resources on development for the platform. I have a HTPC but I bet many other people would love to see an app for the XBox360. I follow alot of info on ZDnet and I know that Microsoft now provides the tools to make it easier to port apps from one mobile platform to another, but a native app would still be the best. Thanks for looking into it for us though.

I work for Microsoft, so if you do have dev time and need some help greasing the skids (obtaining a device) let me know.

The problem is that Microsoft has terrible market share numbers: http://www.comscore.com/Press_Events/Press_Releases/2011/8/comScore_Reports_June_2011_U.S._Mobile_Subscriber_Market_Share

That analysis says MS is at 5.8% in June 2011, down 1.7% from Mar 2011. I'm not sure if that is counting only W7 or also the old WM5/6 OS too. If it does include the latter, that makes W7 really, really small.

EDIT: Another report http://www.millennialmedia.com/wp-content/images/mobilemix/MM-MobileMix-June2011.pdf says that WP7 is growing, but it must be a really, really tiny number overall. They only give Microsoft a 2% market share (again, not saying if that is WP7-only or also includes the WM5/6 line). Of the top 20 phones ranked by "impressions" (whatever that means), no WP7 phone is listed, meaning that none are above 0.73%, which is the phone placed at #20.

I think market share is usually gauged by new sales so it wouldn't include people with older phones.

Hmm, really enjoying the free trial, but don't know if it would be worth it to subscribe if I have no way to view my favourite shows on a mobile platform. I usually watch fansubs on my PC, so 7$ a month for a streaming site only really makes sense for something I can do on my mobile form factor of choice. I don't really see why the mobile CR site uses Flash considering you guys have an android app and android is the only platform that supports flash, and realistically Android's browser should be able to handle the desktop version anyway, seems like HTML5 would make a lot more sense, since all 3 major mobile OSs now have native support for HTML5.

Just the two cents of a passerby who is on the fence about subscribing to the CR Premium anime service.

I will add to the list:

A WP7 app should be a priority!!! This is why WP7 is having a hard time penetrating the market: because app makers (like Crunchy Roll) don't seem to think it's important.

A mobile app would guarantee a paid, long-term subscription from me. Also, an Xbox Live app (which also should be a HIGH priority).

Come on guys!!! Let's get this ball rolling!!! I can get a development kit being a normal, everyday consumer. Surely Crunchy Roll has more clout than I do...

I have yet to own a smart phone, I started to look into buying one mid-2011 and I have to go with a Windows phone.

Why you ask?

Because I've had an Xbox/Zune since launch and way back before Crunchyroll went legit with the content I purchased a lot of content through the Zune market place (Desert Punk, Kiddy Grade, Solty Rei, Gun X Sword, Witchblade, every single episode with ENG subs *blech*) . I'm older and wiser now but I'd hate to see all that money I blew go to waste, I'd like to be able to synch all that Zune content to my phone, but the main reason I'm holding off on getting it is the lack of a Crunchyroll App.

Once that app is released its bye-bye cheap $20 pay as you go Virgin Mobile and hello Sprint phone. Then I'll be able to browse NFL.com on my company laptop while streaming Eyeshield 21 and overall not being a productive team member at work.

We have started working on a WP7 app in some capacity but I can't say if or when it will be released.

Have you guys heard of BlueStack, I guess it is to late now since you started working on the app already, but bluestack will come naively integrated in windows phone 8 and what it does is you can use android apps on your windows phone 8 device, very cool.

It also seems blackberry is offering a blackberry playbook for people who want to transfer their apps over to their market, they have an easy system to migrate apps over to blackberry from android I heard.

http://www.theverge.com/2012/2/3/2767660/rim-free-blackberry-playbooks-android-developers

Though I heard it costs like a 1,000 dollars a year to have your app on their market.
