I still watch every once in a while but I was really disappointed when they stopped showing Shin-Chan. I still credit them with bringing me to alot of shows though.

I can't really think of anything they could play that I already haven't seen, but it's true their lineup and volume of available anime is severely lacking nowadays.

Just remember they would likely never show any ecchi shows as long as it is part of Cartoon Network and part of most basic cable services. I think there would be outrage over gratuitous panty shots of obviously underage girls. Though something like Sekirei might fly if it werent for the nudity since all the ecchiness involves girls of college age or higher.

So just sticking to darker, violent, psychological or just plain weird anime that they haven't shown before and that havn't been shown (that I can remember) on Sci-Fi animondays or other anime channels (in no particular order):
Black Lagoon
Darker than Black
07 Ghost
Angel Beats
Berserk
Gantz
Canaan
Claymore (if they edit out Rocky/Raki)
D-Gray Man
Devil May Cry
Elfen Lied (yeah I know. I don't care. Great Anime)
Ergo Proxy
Gilgamesh
Hakuouki
Eden of the East
Hell Girl
Kurokami
Last Exile
Naruto: Shippuuden
Rideback
Saikano
Occult Academy
Shikabane Hime
STRAIN
The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi
The Skull Man
Witchblade
Zombie Loan

I think a lot of the mini shows - Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Tom Goes to the Mayor, Drinky Crow Show - are kinda stupid. Metalocalypse = win

As for the anime thing..I loved FLCL and Cowboy Bebop still kicks ass. The other stuff can stay or go =\ I'm set

Honestly I think it's because other than Pokemon and Naruto anime is pretty much dismissed as crap or hentai by a lot of people. Which is why a lot of things are slowly disappearing. (Remember Toonami? All it was was anime, before they canceled it.) It's pretty sad personally. Anyway to answer the question. They should definitely start playing some of the older shows. Maybe a re run through of the Gundams and play the stuff that was on Toonami or just plain bring Toonami back. I think they should stop constantly rerunning both seasons of Ghost in the Shell as well as Cowboy Bebop every time they finish the series. I have nothing against either series but it's a little boring knowing that they'll always keep replaying them. Maybe they'd like to talk to the folks at SyFy for anime ideas. SyFy plays some pretty decent stuff.

Adult Swim is a networking schedule that plays on Cartoon Network at night starting generally around 10 PM and goes until 6 AM. Basically they play more adult oriented shows like Family Guy, American Dad, Robot Chicken, Aqua Teen Hunger Force and others like that. Every Saturday night they change their lineup to play anime starting at midnight. Currently they have Bleach, kekkaishi, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Big O, Cowboy bebop, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone series, and Inuyasha. (Not sure about the last as i haven't stayed up until 5 AM for a while.)

I miss the old Adult Swim.
The Adult Swim where there was anime every night, not just Saturday.
& Adult Swim had way better shows when it first came out.

Yah. Adult Swim was better when they were new and really needed people to tune in in order to stay afloat.

Anime has always been something of a point of contention among AS viewers if I remember correctly. It was right about the time Inuyasha first began to air that the schism arose between those that did (watch anime) and those that did not.

Flame wars in the forums spilled over into the actual bumps that appeared between breaks. I remember the time before bumps, and honestly I got tired of them rather quickly. Especially when the powers that be at adult swim started to use them to thumb their noses at their viewers. But I digress.

When things really got heated on AS with regards to anime was when Inuyasha was pulled from the lineup for the first time because there were no new dubbed episodes to air. The AS forums degenerated into something akin to a 4-chan post and for ever after, the anime block always bore the stigma of a few (thousand) people over reacting. Hey, I was mad too. I think I was in middle school at the time and just about as obsessed with the show as anyone else. Miroku is still the man btw.

Honestly, this all happened a while back, but It seemed to spark a slow degradation in AS's interest in maintaining ties with the anime community. I honestly haven't really watched AS in over a year, so I don't know what they're playing these days.

Shows like Tim and Eric, along with AS's inexplicable insistence that their constant struggle to devalue human intellect carries some kind of comedic value, really put me off as a fan.

Funny story. I was at the San Diego Comic Con back in 2008, the same year that Tite Kubo made his first appearance in the US ( and I got to be at that panel, joy!), and I ended up getting tickets into some exclusive AS party being held at the baseball stadium next to the convention center. Writers and voice actors from Venture Brothers and robot chicken were there hanging out and I got to meet a lot of them but Tim and Eric were there as well.

And trust me, both of them are just as creepy and awkward in real life as they are in person. At one point I was taking the elevator down to the bar to get a drink and meet up with some friends. I walked in after an older woman in a really nice suit jacket. She asked me, if I was going to a different floor. I said "Yah, I'd like to head down a couple levels to the bar."

She then asked me, "Are you sure? Tim and Eric are about to start an event up on stage!"

At that point i couldn't help but laugh out loud and say, "Yah, I definitely want to go to another floor then."

She gave me a really word look but pushed the button to close the doors anyway. After I left and found my friends, I didn't see that woman again until some time later in the evening, when she was up on the stage they'd built on the uppermost level, introducing a musical act on behalf of AS. All in all, I felt rather good about the whole situation at that point.

Wow, wall of text on my part. TLDNR anyone? Oh well. This post just brought back a lot of good memories for me.

I used to like adult swim when they aired code geass, bleach, and kekkaishi but you must know that adult swim is not an anime channel. They should add Gurren Lagann and Mobile Suit Gundam to there line up. Also on the topic of adult swim, does anyone watch toonami jetstream because i used to watch it for prince of tennis and that was like four years ago.
