I liked the action in Les Diaboliques and Osamu Kobayashi's directing in episode 5, but my favorite is still Pulp Addiction. That was really something else.

I have to agree. Ep. 6 "Les Diaboliques" has to come a close second to Project A-Ko for epic schoolground fight scenes.

"Les Diaboliques" all the way. Close 2nd place is "Vomiting Point," the "radical tonal shift" episode. I guess one might say those are the best two in an objective sense.

i would have to say the last episode, number 13. because until that episode, I thought Panty was a total whore-b*tch. But now, she's my favorite character

I'd have to say either episode four (Since fat stocking will forever be in my heart) or episode twelve, since it just had so many 'AWWW' moments, and I'm a shipper for Brief and Panty.

I also really liked Les Diaboliques a lot; I was a little disappointed that they never had a proper rematch at the end of the season. I think overall, I preferred the episodes where the demon sisters were involved...

Episodes 6, 10, 13: for me, the series got interesting with introduction of the Demon sisters. Although there were fleeting moments of sheer genius in the earlier episodes my epic struggle to like this show finally surfaced when episode 6 aired and the Demon sisters appeared as antagonists in the series. I have been a fan since.
Episode 10 gave us the theme song and more visual proof these guys are very familiar with film influences beyond the Pacific rim and remain unafraid and unabashed to use any technique to further our appreciation of their offbeat forms of expression.
Episode 13 did not disappoint. These animators kept our rapt attention right up to the last moment. The first season could have ended 3 other times before the cliffhanger?? ending. We also got to see more character development.
My ultimate fav ep was 6: watching the creativity involved where the demons vs angels try to demolish each other.

Thinking about it, it's really hard for me to pick my favorite because all of them are enjoyable.
But Epi. 6, 12, and 13 are the bits that carry action, in-depth (as well the first appearances of the Demon sisters at Epi. 6), and well... Later you get Brief from what I did not expect. xD
No need to explain why, as i'm one of the many who is hyped up after watching those episodes. (Same goes for most of the episodes, mii~)

Either Les Diaboliques or the final episode. Just awesome fight scenes and turning that dial from 11 to fucking 12!
