I had an experience when my parents suddenly didn't allow me to go to an event...
the worst part of it was that they told me not to come when i was all ready...
meaning my bags were packed, i have food, i have money... all i had to do was ride the buss...
my dad called me not to come anymore...
damn it hurts... especially because it's an event that i can't join again next year...
all my friends were there.. while i'm stuck at our house doing nothing.. being so bored...
i was so pissed that i didn't go home to my dad's house... it's a good thing that we have 2 houses far away from each other...

so i'm just asking... what if this happens to you..
what would you do? would you forgive him, when you know that his reason is petty...?

I experienced that too... D:
my mom allowed me but my dad is at the other country, working....
and my mom told me that I need to ask my dad first so I asked him and didn't allow me
my dad told me that he's just worried that something might happen to me.... I got lonely coz I've been preparing for that event for more than a week and they will just tell me that I can't go... tsk, I got an argument with them and later on, they allowed me...
but I already changed my mind so I didn't go in the end...

I wouldn't care. I would just end up locking myself in my room, go on the computer, and do random things.

I would wonder why the hell they're ordering around a grown man.

My parents wouldn't say I couldn't go
But if they did I'd be pretty pissed, especially if they waited until very close to the time when I had started to get ready. D:<
I dunno what I'd do, I don't think I;d go behind their back though..

Not a problem for me. I am 27, so I can do whatever the fuck I want to.

Eh, it happens. A parent can be a pain in the ass sometimes, but whatever. I get mad, but it doesn't really matter in the long run, so I usually just get over it.

What kind of idiot would tell their parents beforehand?

Then I don't go.

I'm not the kind of fag who would make up some hypothetical statement on a forum and show off how independent I am.

Talk to them about it and ask for a sensible reason.
It's a bit weird if they just forbid me when I'm already an adult but I guess I'd listen to them even if I'd be a bit annoyed at first.
Parents usually know what's best for you, trust their judgment if you're not sure about your own ^^
