Maybe you guys need to play something that isn't story based.........

Something with a competitive edge....

Street Fighter and Hot Pursuit has me playing, and will have be playing for a long time.

I'm not sure if I'll quit. But I'm not all that happy with the way gaming is going right now, especally with the motion control craze. I don't play games the way I used to ether.

I usually go on a long break from gaming, but I don't wish to quit. I still enjoy playing video games, whether online, or on my old or new consoles. I wish the family Nintendo still worked though.

quit gaming?
i understand, some role playing (story-centered-only) games make you feel like quiting.
However, Starcraft 2 and other online multipayer games never get tiring!
Starcraft 2 FTW!

It's not that the games that are being released today are no good, I'm just having trouble enjoying games these days. I think I'm going to call it quits on gaming, but it may be for the best. However, I won't quit until I have played through Ghost Trick, Okami-den, and the rest of Telltale's Back to the Future episodes.

Neko Says:
I actually haven't really cared much for playing any video games in a while. Not quitting, but just not caring that much anymore.

This year, I really want quit buying games and console because 1) I have no chance of buying PS3 since 2006 and if I do would figure out that PS3 is outdated console and games; 2) Almost entire servers of PSP games are paced out for upcoming NGP and PS4; and 3) I felt extremely jealous to all who bought Gran Turismo 5.

Japanese PSP game (that was my dream game since last year) could be my last game ever.

I only quit MMO RPG gaming that is Pay To Play.

I hated the pressures of having to continually play in order to get my moneys worth. I ended up sacrificing having a life, for such. Eventually I cut myself off from this and moved to Free To Play games. I find myself happier and enjoying my online games more because it's now on my time/money rather than on a set schedule as Pay To Play does.

Ive only really gotten to the point of quitting gaming when it comes to MMOs. I would go on these big binges and do nothing but play MMOs for months at a time. Then I would get burned out, go do something else, and come back. Until a few months ago...

I suddenly realized that MMOs were not feeding the one specific need that I wanted from games... a sense of real accomplishment. They just kept going on and on and on, no real end in sight. You go out and slay monsters to get loot to be better gear to slay better monsters to get better loot to get even better gear-- rinse, repeat. World of Warcraft really hit that one home to me. I played like many others, working on epic sets of gear through raids, etc. But, when the next expansion came out, all those long hours and hard work went down the tubes within a few hours of the new zones. That's when I realized that it really, for me, was all pointless. There was no end, so to speak.

In a Final Fantasy game, you begin, you work through things, and you come to an end. Same way with Gears of War, Alan Wake, Metroid and Fallout. There is an end goal (though sometimes you may not reach it the same way other players do). And that final sense of accomplishment is what I, as a gamer, need. It's like finishing a good book. You put it on your shelf, think of the fond memories you have of it and move on to the next adventure.
