You can't quit what you love - it makes your life harder than what it used to be. But its always better to know how to control yourself.

You never quit gaming, its a lifestyle you live.
you may take breaks here and there, but when your favorite game releases or a game which catches your interest.
you will play again.

unless you have a family to support and etc.

This.

I quit for a few months as I simply lost interest in what was out. Even now when I am playing, my attention span is short with it.

Yeah, I don't agree with the whole "everyone goes back" thing. If someone finds a hobby they love more than gaming and they only had time to do one of them I am sure they would be fine dropping the lesser one. You wouldn't even have regrets if you were satisfied with the new thing that fills your time.

I wouldn't call quitting a game, cause I just go on and off. I go back to gaming when I see something interesting being released. Then once Ive beaten it i stop, but I go back to my other selections of games for the multiplayer mode

Nope. Never. I enjoy gaming far to much.

well, over the years i have taken breaks from gaming. i still have a working; Atari 2600, NES, SNES, N64, PS2, gamecube, dreamcast, and xbox360. everyone burns out from time to time. i mean i am burned out and just re-playing chrono trigger (PS2) I never truly quit. i just take a break and then wonder why i stopped playing in the first place.

Not me. Gaming is fun way of relieving stress and anger. It's definitely better than beating up people in real life.

i quit gaming when i switched from windows and playstation 2 to linux and nintendo ds
I felt like i was using it as a distraction, to run away from life. so, i quit.

When I quitted a game I were addicted to... it took along time. I still dream about that game tho i haven't played it for over a year.
Tips: If it's a online game: throw ALL UR STUFF away, delete all your friend and destroy your status. U won't look forward to come back.
And be serious about it. Either way you take a break, but if you really want to quit, quit for real.

huh i tried quiting video games went for about a month before i got back into it LOL thats the longest time inbetween gaming sessions that i acomplished. anyways my take on why video games have gone downhill is related to when online play became available. since then, less has been focused on storyline and more on repetitive online matchmaking bullshit. online play is what killed video games and im sure you guys have seen the effects as well.

I've wanted to quit many times, but then I decide not to and each time I'm happier because of that. It's like a marriage, with a little patience, compromise, and a lot of love, you can get through.
