Any update on the login issues? It's frustrating to have to sit through commercials and it looks like the videos are playing in a lower resolution as well.

You should try logging into CR with the Boxee Browser before viewing the videos with the app.

Sorry for the double post....

Boxee released version 1.5 for PC, Mac, and Ubuntu two days ago. This is the latest and final release for PC users. The downloads will only be available until the end of January.

The login trouble that we are having with the CR app on the Boxee Box has found its way to the PC with the latest update. With this release I have not been able to log in to Crunchyroll with the Browser. As this is the case I do not recommend this update for Crunchyroll users who are only using Boxee to watch the premium videos with their PC.

I primarily use the Box to watch videos anyway. Have been looking forward to its update which is expected later next month. Although I'm now troubled by the fact that the 1.5 PC version is not letting me watch any CR simulcasts. Hopefully that will not carry over.

Edit: Tried to log in through CR's mobile site instead to see if I could get through, but the Browser brings up a white page. Bummer

triple post.... can't help it.

Episode 243 of Shippuden is giving an Error in the app. As well as the two previews for the episode.

Videos work fine with the Browser.

UPDATE: not only Shippuden it seems... several of the new videos apparently are giving the error.

I'm having the same issue using my Boxee Box. As far as I know Boxee hasn't made any changes so I don't know what gives.

Nisemonogatari & Beelzebub = Video cannot be played
Moretsu Pirates = Black screen (This happens in the app and through the boxee box browser)

Hopefully this doesn't happen EVERY SEASON like it has been...

Beelzebub is bad too.. Basically every new episode from the new season doesn't play on the boxee box. Kinda like umm last season. Let's hope it's fixed faster than last season. This is ridiculous!

I am a premium member and I am getting tons of advertisements while trying to watch anime on boxee. The other problem I have is, it doesn't automatically choose to be in the mode where you can fast forward, pause, rewind the anime. The curser is automatically chosen as default and i don't see anyway to undo this.

open the boxee browser and go to crunchyroll.com login and then close out and go back to the app. That will get rid of all the ads.

The second issue I have had since October of last year, I've reported it, but either they dont care to fix it, or they don't know how to fix it. Or they could be plain ignoring it since every new season seems to break boxee support.

Hit the lower button on the boxee remote, select "go to browser" this will bring up a browser looking box at the top where you can see the URL to the video you are watching. Once you see that pause and unpause and you will have full control without a cursor. It's a slight pain, but I'm willing to deal with it so long as the videos work.

Same issue, immediately upon clicking a video in the app, I get "Sorry, unable to play video" I am logged into both the web page and the app as usual. It plays fine from the browser in Boxee but that is very cumbersome to navigate. This started around the New Year for me.

I was unaware of this happening last season but we're looking into it now. Already reproduced it so it's just a matter of finding out why it's happening.

Update: This issue was unrelated to anything that may have been wrong last season. It was due to a new encoding system we are using where we finally completely transitioned off of our old encoding system. The problem was that our Boxee app was still requesting the old video types regardless of whether or not our video player used them. Anyway, it should be fixed now.

However, login for our website doesn't work on the Boxee desktop client while it does work on the Boxee Box. A workaround we had for PS3 was to use the Mobile Site but the Mobile Site does not load for some reason on the Boxee desktop client. I am uncertain if that will be resolved as Boxee themselves are discontinuing the desktop client.

Thank you for the update and quick resolution! Lets hope when the new boxee box code is released next month all hell doesn't break loose :P

I know you can install the final beta now, but I never install anything other than what Boxee requires me to install, i.e. stable release code.

I'm already using the 1.5 Public Beta on Boxee Box and so far CR has been working okay. If anything the overall UI improvements make it look better.

Still the login stuff is a real bummer.

The videos do work now in the library, but I noticed Ep. 244 of Shippuden on the featured tab is now giving the error. The episode loads fine when looking for it under the anime tab.

Out of curiosity I decided to check to see if it would load if I did a search for it... and discovered that not only the new Shippuden episode, but all the videos that weren't working before are still giving the error when you use the search function in the app.

I'm finding that all of the newer shows are providing a 404 error when I try to watch them through Boxee, viewing the videos in a browser works fine.

Specifically the ones i've seen it happen to are:
Moretsu Pirates episode 2
Inu x Boku SS (both episodes)
Listen to me girls, i'm your father (both episodes)

I haven't tried any others yet.

Sign in through the Boxee Box browser, go back to the CR app, and then the video will load.

Thanks that fixed it.

Seems like a rather counter intuitive step though.
