I just set up the Boxee software on a windows PC hooked up to my TV and downloaded the Crunchyroll app. Whenever I try to play a video on the Crunchyroll app, I just get a black screen and no sound, but the progress bar moves like it is playing something.

I have been viewing Crunchyroll Drama on my Boxee Box and started enjoying the videos. Wanting to get rid of the nuisance commercials I joined with my iPad and immediately noticed that nothing happened for my Boxee Box. I went to my Crunchyroll account and noticed that my device was iPad and no other devices. When I use my iPad Crunchyroll works great. When I use any other device Crunchyroll allows me to sign in but does not seem to adjust to any devices other than the iPad. I have not tried to deactivate my iPad device to see if I can install Boxee Box. Has anyone tried this?
Crunchyroll support said they are working on the device problem.

Hi,

Neither the latest Fairy Tale, nor the back catalog are playable atm on the boxee box. It looks like it loads, the crunchy roll logo comes up in the middle of the screen, but then it goes black and nothing happens.

Update:

Actually nothing that is working on the boxee box right now. Gosick was working earlier today, but now nothing. Neither is Naruto, Sacred 7.

The only thing I got to work was the R:15 PV not sure why that works, but nothing else does.

Anyone else having issues?

Update 2:

So all the Gosick episodes play up until 23. Neither 23 or 24 play.

Actually this isn't a boxee box problem at all. It's a 720p problem none of the 720p videos are working right now even on my pc browser.

720p appears to be broken site-wide since sometime between Friday night and Saturday morning:

The problem does appear to be resolved now, however.

I have the D-link boxee box with the latest firmware. Even while logged in to my premium account, I'm getting SD quality video and have to watch the ads. Is this a known issue? If yes, is there an ETA for a fix? I feel its not quite worth it for me of I can't watch HD on my tv from the boxee box and don't get the ad-free experience.

yeah it is a known issue.

workaround:
1) Use the browser in the boxee to go to www.crunchyroll.com
2) login thru website
3) go back to app and it should load correctly.

My cookie usually expires after a couple of weeks and i have to do this again.

Is Crunchy Roll still updating the Boxee App? My understanding is Boxee only writes the core software and everything else the content provider and/or third party develops. I'd really like to know what Rez I'm playing at, and the double login to get to the premium account is a bit of a hassle.

Does setting the rez in the account profile get you anything?

I hope Crunchyroll didn't forget about the boxee box system. I bought it mainly for Crunchyroll. Logging into Boxee's browser and then the app is a pain in the butt, especially for my wife. I try to make it a rule to do it myself every 2-3 weeks. I hope you guys get around to it.

^ Same here. I just bought the Boxee and was excited about being able to see episodes in 720p on my tv, but the commercials are a bit annoying.....

just noticed today that I keep getting adverts that play twice when trying to watch crunchyroll through the boxeebox. Anyone know when this started and how to turn it off? This is not why I subscribe, to get adverts.

Thanks, it does work, but a bit of a work-around. Occasionally the browser crashes. I am curious why it just happened yesterday for me and by the looks of things last month for others. Possibly the cookie thing. I agree with the above commentators, the only reason I bought the boxeebox was to watch crunchyroll as my pc just doesn't have the oomph.

According to a Boxee team member, an updated Crunchyroll app might be in the works. But I'll believe it when I see it.
