Same thing happening here. This trend where I am spending as much time troubleshooting the boxee box app as I am watching shows is getting old.

Thanks for the workaround, it does work. Still as has been pointed out, this is seriously annoying.

Also, since I'm here and it's been almost a year since I posted this:

1. Autoplay doesn't work and there should be an option to turn it off
2. There needs to be a Queue or Watch list or whatever.

I mentioned both of these things last November.

I think it's really great that CR supports all these platforms but what would be even better if they could address some things us early adopters have been asking for since day one. I also use the iPad app and would really appreciate some kind of queue on that as well.

We bought a Boxee just so we can watch Crunchyroll on the TV. We pay for a premium status but now are unable to watch the shows as it says we need premium. It has been this way for days. What is a timeframe for a fix?

Hi, Yes I was trying to play Usagi Drop but it suddenly says I need to be a premium member (I am) I saw this was an issue in Sept 2010 before was a fix for it.... (I guess on your server side) No biggie I figure they will get the message and a fix will be done in a few days...

I don't think this thread is monitored very well. I suggest every premium member use the contact us link at the bottom of the page and let support know that boxee is essentially broken.

I sent a ticket in a while ago. Then again I sent a ticket in a week or so ago and never heard back.

Maybe they should read their own canned email responses...

I subscribed to CR and bought a Boxee so I could watch anime on my TV, its a bit of a bummer the day they charge me for a year of service this happens lol.

I sent Basou a PM a few minutes ago. But his offline says he is on vacation. Let's hope someone is reading these threads other than him. He is usually very good about getting back to people and starting work with the dev team to get things fixed. Last year the issue was a lot different that what is going on now (and I also had a lot less patience). The app itself isn't getting the right information from the servers. You'll notice you CAN watch anything on the start screen. For example if you scroll to the side a few times on the start screen and click on any of the newer premium content (Bleach, R-15, etc) your video will start. [EDIT] You can also use the search function of Boxee to find the shows, as previously posted by mozychan.


I did go digging through the Python script again, but determined the possible workaround created unwanted results. I'll leave it at that. I am not sure it would help the Boxee Box owners anyway.


With the weekend.......and the possibility Basou is on vacation, we may not see an official fix till hopefully Monday or Tuesday. Hopefully no longer than that......

[UPDATE]
Don't see a secure way to workaround the issue on the client end python code [Crunchyroll App] without compromising the integrity/security of the app.

I am sorry, I misunderstood the meaning of your post until just now. But NOW I get it. I'm just used to seeing that phrase in reference to using the Forum search function and immediately went on the defensive.

Older videos are no longer blocked while browsing the app. The new simulcasts however, are now blocked regardless of being logged in as a premium member. Simulcasts will still play if selected from the 'featured' tab or found with the apps search function.

Indeed, been bugging me for a few days now.

Seems like the Roku is Crunchyroll's box of choice. 2 noticeable changes this year.

Some older features still not on the Boxee app & although Boxee now has the shows browsable within Shows, these are often weeks out of date or mis-labeled.
