Regardless of the above I can -somewhat- relate to being angry at people who don't seem to get it. It IS annoying when you're talking about reasonably complex and mature anime drama and someone says "Oh that's like that pokemon stuff. " It would be the same as talking Schindler's list and have someone compare to a cheesey made for TV comedy because they're both movies.

Most people are reasonable and understanding if you explain that however. Those who persist in being ignorant, you can write off as nimrods not worth your time.

But honestly, As you presented it above I can't agree with you.

They aren't Idiots. and they're not mocking you. What makes it irritating to you are your own value judgements. You believe that Manga is something Inately superior to whatever you think a 'comic' is. Ergo someone calling your great art, a comic, sounds like an insult to you. But that's YOU. You are the one making the value judgement that makes 'comic' sound like an insult to your ears. You need to get over yourself and take a deep breath.
