well true its an opinion... But best is a word and has its meaning and we can't just ignore it if we did it would be a pointless and wouldn't exist...Since the word best exist and we use it we have to apply to something and I apply it to one piece :)

Because to Japan, DB, DBZ, is pretty old, nothing new. It was released in Japan in 1980's. Naruto, Bleach, and OP are a lot more recent + it's still airing. For us, we had DB/DBZ back around 1990's but with it's low ratings it was dropped until the turn of the 21st century is when DB/DBZ first started to become popular. Exactly the same time DB/DBZ became popular here, One Piece started to air in Japan. Considering it started airing around the corner to the start of the 21st century, it's been about 11 years since OP started. We didn't get OP until 2004, then Naruto started at the end of 2002 in Japan, then we got Naruto around 3 years later. Finally Bleach started end of 2004, and we got it about 2 years later.

DB/DBZ: Japan 1980's - America 1990's but canceled, until Aug of 1998 with DBZ.
One Piece: Japan Oct of 1999 - America Sept of 2004
Naruto: Japan Oct of 2002 - America Sept of 2005
Bleach Japan Oct of 2004 - America Sept of 2006

America didn't start to watch until about about end of 1998...so 12th Anniversary year of Anime. Even with Pokemon and Digimon. Although we did have Sailormoon in 1995, I don't think everyone was into Sailormoon. But a lot of people were definitely into DB/DBZ/Pokemon when I was a kid.

Pokemon: Japan April of 1997 - America Sept of 1998
Digimon: Japan March of 1999 - America Aug of 1999

DBZ never gets old i'm even watching dbz kai on tv even though they cut some of the good scenes out...guess u need to wait for the uncut dvd to experience it fully...

Let me remind some people that Worldwide/Global does not equal US.

If I'm not mistaken, Dragon Ball is still the #1 manga worldwide with 300million copies sold, but I'd say One Piece come close 2nd because as of now One Piece sold 220million+ copies in Japan alone and One Piece is also fairly popular in most Asian countries and Europe.

Not to mention One Piece still have maybe 10/13 more years of run since the series is just halfway through the story right now and if One Piece keep selling like 3million per volume then One Piece will beat Dragon Ball's wordwide sales in a few years with Japan sales alone.

Think about it.

I could be wrong,but that's what I learned throughout the years of observing,no one even talks about One Piece in America,well,none that I've heard of,there could be people who talks about it though.But almost every school I go you'll always hear guys and some girls talking about Naruto and Dragon Ball.Reading it at class,choosing it as a topic for a project...............

One Piece is pretty big in the phillipines too,never liked it though,neither does my classmates,friends and cousins

So One Piece is BIG in the otaku community,but Naruto has more global fans,but most of some of its fans don't even know what anime or manga is,they just like it
