Where can I view that CR is giving back to the anime community?

The only reason I pay monthly subscriptions to the site is simply because of the huge anime piracy going down which has destroyed the anime industry, and I felt guilty because of it.

There are already a lot of threads regarding this stuff: http://www.crunchyroll.com/forumtopic-371988/the-anime-fansub-groups-stealing-from-anime-studio-one-episode-at-a-time ,so I wont go into detail about that

I think most older anime fans have noticed a steep decline in good quality animes, which is to be expected with the closing of multiple studios, and the budget costs most have faced in the industry. (It seems like 75% of anime produced now is based on some echii theme, or geared towards children, which is to be expected seeing how they need to pay their bills)

The truth is, as im sure everyone knows, you can view all of the stuff through other sites, which pirate, for free; however, most subscribe to CR simply on the basis of there motto, "helping out the anime community and supporting them."

So to the point, where can I view proof of this? I don't think I will be too happy to see CR pocketing 19 dollars a month and donating 1 dollar of it to the anime studios. (which im sure is not the case)

Hmm... so you want like page that shows how much money and support CR gives to anime studios, like exactly? Good idea.
I too wonder if people with Premium membership's money is really going to studios.

They most likely are, since they have stimulcasted from the studios 1 hr after air time in Japan.

Bu then again, hackers have their ways...

I am sure the membership fees contribute pennies on the dollar for the producers.

If you were the president of a huge anime company that spends thousands of dollars per episode to create great shows would you allow some website to stream your hard works for that little?

If you honestly think that these anime studios are not making a sizable profit on this site you are crazy. No business would give their products license away like that if they were not seeing a good return.

The FAQs says

4. Where does that money go?
A significant portion of the membership fees goes towards supporting the people who created the show. The remainder helps us defray the costs of servers, bandwidth, staff, and so on.

I'm hoping a lot of money goes to the anime industry.

Mr.Entropy, Gheydeer, please don't turn this thread into another one of your arguments -.-

Argument is often part of discussions. It's what intellectuals like us call debate.

I think Crunchyroll contributes plenty to the starving and destitute animators in the slums of Japan. With your help, we can give them food, clothing, education, and most importantly; hope. I am Walter Coppage, and I approve this message.

So you're too good for me to talk to? I think the animators in Japan would be ashamed to receive your blood money.

If it didn't Japan wouldn't allow CR to stream their videos. so it must be sufficient enough.

I did not see that specific information listed on the site. It is best to goto the Contact Us link at the bottom of the page. You should be able to submit the question to a CR representative. I am sure they will respond with an appropriate answer.

Besides the children posting in the thread, I take it no one knows? See, there is a problem with this. This data should be available, that is like a charity taking donations and not listing or showing the actual amount that was donated.

Giving basic information like donating a large sum means nothing. I could state this same basic thing through a charity, and donate only 10% of the collections, which by definition is "a large sum." Anyone who has ever ran a site knows what costs come with a site, and seeing how I have ran two just like CR, I know how much there costs are, so I will ask once again, where is this data and why has no one asked this question?

+I will also take the route of contact us and paste a link to this thread for someone who repersents this company to answer this very important question.

I'm curious too. More than little curious actually. For the OP has summed up my own feelings quite well. I watch on crunchy roll if It's here and pay for a premium membership, (I also have Netflix and occasionally buy DVDs) all because I think I SHOULD pay for the anime I watch so that more of it get's made.

It'd be nice to know I'm not fooling myself.

One thing I have noted: you all realize that the Anime Importers are the ones who really lose out. I notice they're going under faster than the studios.

About half of the money gained from our site and services is distributed amongst our various partners. Most of our specific financial information is kept confidential within the company so that is all that has been disclosed. Because of this, I don't want to know about the specifics since I wouldn't be able to tell anyone about it anyway.

Though, as we gain more users/subscribers and cost of operation goes down, the amount given back to our partners will increase.

Well considering that Cr is a pretty known source for anime/drama (i think), i'm sure the "anime community" would label Cr as con-artist of some sort already (if it was pirating), and then we should all know about just like the scanlators and the manga thing a few months back...proof enough? and if you feel so guilty about pirating anime from anime companies then i suggest to you, is that you buy their anime/manga series in a store tht sells it, and if your location doesn't sell these things then there's always the frickin internet
