It is not just the Roku. Their main web pages also give a "document not found" error, and they do not appear on the Spring 2011 or alphabetical list anime browse pages. At last check, however, the videos themselves are still there.

In Drama, Queen of Reversals has also gone from Roku but We Without Wings never went away from me but all of the above didn't update new shows for at least 48 hrs. after posting on the website.

[Edit] All of my Roku kinks have worked out in the last hour. Haven't checked the android app yet, though.

I'm having trouble with some Marry Me! episodes. They still say "unavailable...still encoding" and it has been a month or more. Thanks! Everything I've watched on CrunchyRoll has made me laugh, so thank you for all that you do! Enjoying it, and it is majorly contagious.

NO, nada, zip, zilch, zero video playback on my Roku.

About a month ago with the new redesign on Crunchyroll, I loved this channel.

Now, nothing plays: I've tried Bleach, Code Geass, Durara, Haruhi, Eureka 7, Gundam 00, Shangrai La, Lucky Star for the past two days. Restarted my Roku a few times.
What time of day are you using it? I am in a position to watch it in the morning on one day of the week, and the difference in performance to my normal nighttime effort to use it around 11pm~1am EDT is massive.

Since the problem is that the stream doesn't start running before the Roku times out on starting the stream, if there are any network problems in your area, it could easily push all startups into the length of delay where the Roku just time outs.

Definitely not a network problem. All my other channels on my Roku work without fail: Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, etc..

Any ETA on a fix?
The help desk guy up above says they are taking the Roku streams of the Limelight backbone servers ~ if the Limelight connection is responsible for the start-up delay, that would fix the biggest problem. Don't think there's an announced timeline ~ they could well do the switch ASAP rather than announce it in advance.

Things seem to be back to normal compared to a week ago. No lagging at all. Thanks CR!

The first episode of Mobile Suit Gundam 00 gives the "Unavailable" error when trying to play it through the Roku, though all the other episodes work fine. The first episode works fine on my PC.

Lucky you! I wasted another 30 minutes last night trying to get a couple of dramas to work with zero luck. Got to see plenty of commercials though. Very frustrating and annoying.

These things sometimes combine.

For instance, say there are network delays that eat up one fifth of the time out period.

On Netflix, Hulu Plus or Amazon, no problem ~ they launch in less than half the timeout, so they can ride out a bit of network delay without breaking a sweat.

Take a system [*cough*] that sometimes completely fails to launch, sometimes gets its launch interrupted by the timeout, sometime launches in the nick of time. Add one fifth of the time out in network delays, and it goes from bad to unusable.

In my experience, its worst at night. Tried four times to start a Painter of the Wind episode, failed. Then I got lucky and a Jumong episode that has been failing to start all weekend suddenly decided to load.

Just purchased a Roku so I could watch Korean Dramas on my plasma, but no luck. Hulu Plus, Netflix, and many other channels work fine and I can access CR from all my computers and other devices. Looks like this isn't a new problem, but wanted to voice my displeasure. I'm still on my two-week trial, but that shouldn't make a difference, should it? At this point I don't know if I'll continue it if they can't get the Roku channel working.

A little more on the problem, although it's been described countless times above. I can access the channel, navigate to my favorites, and navigate to a particular episode, but then when I play the episode it just hangs at the "retrieving" page and then goes back to the previous screen. Tried multiple episodes and multiple dramas with no luck.

Welcome to the Club! There was talk a few posts ago about some type of fix in store. If it was already done, it didn't work.

Sadly, this is, in my opinion, the best channel available for Roku, but because of these ongoing issues, it has resulted in disappointment and displeasure from viewers. Your two-week trial should not have an effect on the channel loading (or not), except that you don't have to watch those annoying commercials over and over again prior to the episode timeouts. My wife and I end up watching episodes on an iPad, which doesn't have any of the caching/loading issues.

I really want to be a subscriber, but can't see paying while these problems exist. If and when they're fixed, I'll get a premium sub.

On a side note, if you get it to load, try watching the Korean comedy series "High Kick". It is absolutely hilarious and is our new favorite.

This is exactly the same problem that I and many others are having. I also bought a Roku to watch Korean dramas, but I end up watching a loading screen until it times out. Other channels on the Roku work fine, but they aren't CR :(

BasouKazuma posted 11 days ago that CR might switch away from Limelight to fix the issue, but I don't think there have been any updates since then.

Can't get anything to play on the Roku, though other devices are fine and all other channels (Hulu, Netflix, Amazon, etc) are fine on Roku. I tried rebooting everything (router, modem, and Roku). I tried unregistering and re-registering the device. I'm at a loss. My ping is 12ms, download speed is 18.1, upload is 6.2. Pingtest ranks my connection an A.

I did the tests requested in post 1. The trace route looks interesting.

Maybe its worse for the back catalog titles ~ the ones I am watching, since I only really watch historical dramas ~ but it so, then Crunchyroll should upload all their completed series to Netflix. At least on Netflix I can watch them when I want to, not when Crunchyroll's CDN decides to deliver them to me.

Agila,
It's not that it's a backlogged title. I'm trying for the episode of Naruto that came out today. Nada.
