Uninstalling and re-installing the app alone didn't resolve the problem for me. You could try only removing it from the Devices list and then reactivate it again, as I didn't try that alone.



Thanks. I've also been having the problem, and it hadn't occurred to me to try that. I just deactivated and reactivated my Roku device, linked to my account from Crunchyroll on Roku, and when I then left Crunchyroll and went back I didn't have to relink! (I didn't have to do anything like remove the channel from my Roku or reboot it or anything.)

I tried again today and the subtitles are still missing. I have a really old Roku--probably the first model they sold. What's really odd is that Episode 3 was fine, and Episode 5 is fine; it just seems to be Episode 4 (you are looking at Season 2, right?)

No big deal. I watched it on my computer, and I don't expect to want to go back and rewatch on Roku so if no one else is complaining about it...

I just checked this episode ("You're Like Me"), and it had no subtitles on my Roku XD|S.

I do not know if it might be related, but I also found when I went to fast forward through the OP that thumbnails were presented for only about the first minute, and I could not advance past that.

No such problems with the next two episodes (5 & 6) that I checked.



Hey, thanks for looking. That's exactly what I'm seeing. The limited thumbnails, can't fast forward past them (I almost always ff through the OP), and no subtitles. (I have encountered the unable to fast forward situation with other shows occasionally, but I don't recall that ever being accompanied by lack of subtitles.)

Roku: You and Me 2, episode 3 plays for a few seconds, then goes to the loading screen, before failing and returning to the episode info screen.

Naruto Shippuden episode 256 is not showing subtitles on Roku.
King 2 Hearts episodes 7 and 8 have no subtitles on Roku as well.

Signed up for the Premium Membership trial a week ago for my new Roku XD and hoped a membership would increase the quality of my streaming videos but it hasn't.

I'm new to Roku and at first I thought the quality "dots" were an indication of resolution but after reading through the forums, I guess the "dots" are (bitrate). The problem is I only get 1 "dot" when watching Crunchyroll on Roku for Quality/(bitrate). I thought becoming a member might fix this but I don't see any improvement?

After browsing the forums here, I tried a few things to try and fix it...
First Step
: I unlinked my Roku account and relinked it after a few days on the CR membership plan, it didn't help...
Second Step
: I tried the first step followed with dropping the CR channel from Roku and adding it back, it didn't help...
Third Step
: I tried steps 1 & 2 followed by removing Roku from my "Active Devices" on my CR user account then adding everything back, it didn't help...

My Roku says I have an "Excellent" wireless conection and I get 3 or 4 Quality/(bitrate) "dots" with other channels where I am not a memeber with Roku but can't acheive this with the CR channel. In addition, the stream usually sputters and fails within the first few minutes of playback and goes to the loading screen. This sputtering has gotten even worse starting yesterday. Now instead of failing just once during the first few minutes, it goes to a loading screen about ever 2-5 minutes of play. Is this typical service for a Premium Membership through Roku? ...or, is there something I haven't thought of that I could do to fix this? Thanks in advance for any help or advice anyone may be able to give me.

I did the speed tests that were suggested in the Original sticky but they are from my wireless laptop, not the Roku. The only thing I can tell you about it is that it tells me the connection is "Excellent" in the settings window.

(edit): Just tried to watch Ep.8 of Hanamaru Kindergarten and the stream failed to a loading screen 7 times during a 24min show 5pm, 4/22/12

As a premium member, you should be seeing 2 quality dots on most programming (which is equivalent to the bitrate for 480p on CR); certainly with programs that are not very recent releases.

Although your download bandwidth is low, it is still well above what is required for a 480p stream on Crunchyroll. Are you a single person household, or are their other members that may be tapping that bandwidth?

Yes, just a single person household and I don't have my laptop or desktop running when I have the TV on. I dunno why CR acts the way it does when veiwing with Roku. Everything works just fine on my laptop when veiwing CR shows but this thing only has a 16" display while my TV is a 48" LCD so I usually stream movies and stuff through my bluray player but I heard that CR was available on Roku and it isn't on the Samsung bluray I have so I got one but now it's giving me issues.

- I seem to have been able to correct the issue, woot! I've been looking through the CR forums and Roku forums for a solution and the method that seemed to work was a "hard reset" of my Roku box. Just adding this incase someone with similar issues finds this post in the future. There's a small reset button on the back of the roku that you need to press and hold for 30 seconds to reset the model. Hope this helps someone.

I am Flower Too episodes 6 and up are missing the subtitles on Roku. Subtitles play fine via the web.

Dusk Maiden of Amnesia episode 3 is missing subtitles on Roku. The subtitles show up via the Crunchyroll stream on the website but they do not appear via Roku.
