This is only happening with the Crunchyroll app. I've tested HD content in Hulu, Netflix, and Flixster, and all load quickly and play smoothly in HD. My connection isn't blazing fast, but it's plenty good, 26.7 mbps according to last speed test, and I have a full bar of wi-fi signal. Any ideas, or is it maybe just a CR server issue? Edit: btw, this has been happening for about a week now, with all shows I've tried watching. Can you try uninstalling and reinstalling the channel to see if this does anything? I did, so far it seems to have helped, thanks. |

Mainichi Kaasan Season 1 loaded fine at first for me on my Generation 1 Roku, then had to re-load a short while later and took a very long time to do so (~8 min). I haven't watched a show from this season in a while, but will update again after trying other episodes.

Roku 2 XS, Tower of Druaga - Aegis of Uruk
SUBTITLES CUT (half-height, cut at bottom)/UNREADABLE Sony DLP tv SXRD (supports 1080P, widescreen tv), no other issues in any other channel or devices. Although several years old, pretty high end TV. 1) Have tried changing the Roku settings for 4:3, 16:9, 720p, 1080p without correction. 2) Have tried unhooking the HDMI cable after the roku display changes and plugging i back in without correction. 3) Have tried powering off the Roku after display changes to the Roku and powering it back up without correction. 4) Have tried changing the TV's Vertical Center (only available when zooming unfortunately with this TV) without correction (still can not read subtitles as cutoff). 5) Have tried Normal, Stretch, Zoom, Wide Zoom modes on the TV without correction. 6) Have tried changing video preferences for my Crunchyroll account to 720p without correction. Unlinked account and linked back up after Crunchyroll video preferences changes without correction. 7) unplugged HDMI, plugged RCA jacks instead, without correction (both HDMI and RCA and all tests directly to TV, not through receiver or anything else) Reviewed http://www.crunchyroll.com/help?topic=roku Reviewed this forum (example pictures here are exactly the problem I'm having). (p.s. although I know you guys have no control over the advertisements, I noticed the advertisement texts are a good inch or so above the bottom of my screen with no chance of getting cut off). 50% discount for premium membership offer...but I can't put myself to do this as I haven't found 'the right thing' to do for subtitles to work. Any assistance would be appreciated! -Darren updated review (roku 720p, crunchyroll 720p video preference settings, hdmi): BTOOM - 16:9 720p video, subtitles ok Asura Cryin - 16:9 720p video, subtitles ok Air Master - 4:3 720p video, subtitles ok Demon King Daimao - 16:9 720p video, subtitles ok Tower of druaga:Sword of Uruk (different one) - 16:9 720p video, subtitles 95% ok (slightly cut at the bottom, but readable..notably larger font than Aegis) Maybe provide some type of marker/icon/different cover-image/overlay for those videos that have known or suspected subtitle issues (potentially by device if relevant/possible, otherwise just in general to avoid user surprises). |

Aegis of URUK has hardsubs. There is nothing I can do about this to resolve the problem. Apologies. |

Just wondering if anyone has had exasperating video buffering issues in the days following Christmas on their Roku/VIA/WD. The only streaming channel on my Roku box having this problem is Crunchyroll. I'm assuming that there might be a large influx of new connections utilizing the servers dedicated to Roku causing this, because the CR apps on several other platforms seem to be functioning normally.

It's very slow to buffer and occasionally stops to re-buffer. Only on Roku, Only shortly before and after Christmas. Have a friend who is also experiencing this, too. |

The subtitles for Digimon Tamers is half cut off, so you can only see 50% of a line of subtitles.

For the record if anyone else is having this buffering issue: I've tried twice unlinking account, uninstalling, rebooting Roku, then installing again-And after about five seconds of quality buffering it flashes and goes back to one dot and spotty buffering. Internet connection still excellent. Really weird. |

I have a problem using roku when it is linked. Alot of shows that show up fine on the web can't be played on the roku when i link the account. When I unlink it, suddenly i have alot of access. At first i thought it was just how crunchyroll chose to configure. I am only contributing toward the anime support, so when i linked, it went from many drama shows being listed to 1.
However, when I checked the animes, the same thing happened. I have a roku HD. I get content not accessible errors all the time, even though i watch it on the browser. Galaxy railways 999 for example, can't be played, even though i select it from my queue list, but if i unlink, all of a sudden i can play any episode i can find using the search function. I had the same error with haruhi suzumiya. This error makes no sense, at least on the roku, my experience is far better unlinked than linked, but then there are episodes i can't play. I have not seen mentions of this error. This seems to be the only place to report. Anyone have any suggestions? |
