Getting my new Roku 2 XS for Christmas was great, I cannot comment on using Crunchyroll before Christmas but my experience since Christmas has been the worst ever using CR. Organization is terrible within the channel, New shows are not even showing up, Buffering is horrible, Toggling back and forth searching for new shows is terrible because it TAKES FOREVER to re-render the images of the shows again and it does this every freaking time!!

Amazon work great- Check full 1080p
Vudu works great- Check full 1080p
Hulu works great- Check full 1080p
ESPN3 works great- Check full 1080p

FUNIMATION works great- Check 1080p!!

So I have NO bandwidth issues, network latency or jitter problems.

Seems Like you are having the same issues I am. I also have many of those same channels, and have no problems. Problems persist on my roku, and my new roku 2 xs. I can watch a lot on a free account and very little on linked. Only thing I can think of in common is that (by your statement) we both seem to be new members. Maybe that has something to do with it? I contacted CR a while ago, and still haven't received a response. Don't think it's been more than a day or so.

Do regular (long term) members have any issues with linking their account? Or is this issue the result of a channel update with bugs?

Okay, great that you're not having any issues on these other apps!
However to help you, are you more having issues with aesthetics or playback.

Your actual feedback / letting me know what the problem is, isn't very clear.

Please let me know exactly what problems you're encountering.

The main issue is video buffering within the CR channel when I try and play a episode ANY of them. Also lag time from opening one show looking at it and closing it and moving to another..

The other stuff is just UI and it does not prevent me from watching shows

No. Once I link it, All the jdrama disappears except for the show "Vision" (happened on my other box also), and the anime list shrinks.

After entering and exiting, some of my queued shows were there, but I get the error:

"ERROR There is currently no content available for this series. [Done]"

This happens with suzumiya, railways 999, captain harlock, Gintama, etc - pretty much everything listed in my queue.

When I select a recently watched episode, I get.

"Server Error La operacion no pudo ser completada debido a uno o mas valores faltantes {Done]

Also Haruhi, etc and many series do not show up in search. But there they are from my previous queue, as well as recently watched history.

I once tried linking from premium account button, and more stuff remained on screen, but it still gave errors such as "no content available" or "the operation could not be completed due to one or more missing values"

Bit frustrating, yet reassuring to know i am not the only one, and that the error repeats itself accross devices. Either something is configured improperly in my account, or the channel has a bug. or both.

Go to Video Preferences and change the subtitles to 'English (US)'

Crunchyroll anime videos are CONSTANTLY reloading when I try to watch them. That doesn't happen to me with Netflix or Amazon - JUST with Crunchyroll, so it isn't my connection.

AND WHEN THE HELL IS CRUNCHYROLL GOING TO UPDATE ANIMES FOR GOD'S SAKE???? It's been 3 freaking weeks on some of them.

Stuff like this is why I will likely NEVER get a premium membership.

Many series were on break and didn't air in Japan which is why several shows have not had their newest episodes released. There have also been several shows that have ended recently, so the shows that you are referring that haven't had an episode for three weeks are probably one of the shows that recently finished airing.

If you check the show information page for those series that didn't have an episode last week, you will see a message under the "Show Availability" section along the lines of:


Due to special programming in Japan, Polar Bear Cafe is on hiatus this week and will resume January 10.

Surprisingly, this actually fixed the problem. It would be nice if in the future it could just default to an available language if the preffered default is not available.

I might have overlooked this issue since the first few shows I watched all had spanish subtitles, I assumed many did, including the ones that disappeared.

Is there anyway to filter/obtain a list of shows available by language?

Getting a complete list of shows with spanish would be best. I don't see a filter on the website.

If you change the language of the site to Spanish (link at the bottom of the page) and change the Subtitles to 'Espanol' then go here:

http://www.crunchyroll.com/videos/anime/alpha?group=all

I believe that will give you a full list with Spanish subs.

Actually.... testing just now if you click on Spanish at the bottom of the page, that will give you a full list of shows available with Spanish subtitles.
