I haven't tried yet today, but yesterday I had the same load issues from the two previous posts. I would select an Anime episode, and it would just kick it back out after waiting a few seconds. Second try usually worked though. This was yesterday during the day. When I got home last night there was a good hour where no matter what I did I couldn't get an episode to load.

Went back to Netflix, played some things on there to make sure it wasn't just me. Back to Crunchyroll channel and it was back to having to try a couple times to get it to play.

Overall though, aside from the quirks (which I'd expect), great app and glad to have it. Streaming is smooth as well (and I've noticed even on the PC has been improving over time the past few months).

Great work CR, keep up the work! Can't wait to see some more improvements on the CR channel for Roku!!

EDIT:
Details on the episodes not loading:

Demon King Daimo (had issues past episode 3 I believe, after that it was a real struggle to get any of them to load)
Naruto (working fine)
??? (I tried one more, forgot to write it down, but it did not load either so figured CR overall was having issues)
Gosick (working fine)
Reborn! (couldn't get any to load without trying 2-3 times, as also shown in youtube video posted below).

If ISP info helps, I'm in Nebraska, COX is my ISP.

Just wanted to let you know,. Heh, perhaps getting paid made it so happy it broke.

Hi, I'd like to second and third some of the comments on here regarding the Roku box not loading Crunchyroll videos as of several days ago (I think now it's been four or five days since I've had this issue.)

You can select the video, but after a minute or so, you're kicked back to the episode selection page. This happens with all anime. All other Roku box channels are working fine, and other devices which share my wifi connection work as usual, so this seems like a Roku Box - Crunchyroll specific issue. I've tried removing and re-adding the Crunchyroll channel, as well as resetting my Internet connection on the Roku Box as well, but this hasn't seemed to help.

A couple of days ago, I was able to watch an episode or two of some anime, but that was after trying to reload the episode several times. As of today, nothing loads, even after clicking on it multiple times. The episodes appear to be continually timing out.

Update: At around 8:20 p.m. EST, I tried a few more anime episodes and had mostly success, though they were slower than usual to load. For example, episode 1 of Eyeshield loaded fine, while episode 8 loaded slowly but did work. Beezlbub (spelling?) episode 6 worked fine. Episode 1 of Reborn loaded, but episode 5 did not at all and timed out. So again, mostly success, but still there appear to be a few bugs to be worked out.

Update Again: Around 10:30 p.m. almost nothing runs. I tried episodes 1 - 10 in Eyeshield 21 and had no luck. I tried episodes 2 & 3 in Reborn, and they didn't work either. Episode 1 of Reborn did work though. Bummer, it looks like it's getting worse again :-(

Also, the Crunchyroll web site works fine for me on the PC, it's just the Roku Box channel which is a bit broken.

It's definitely been progressively worse over the last 2 days. Echoing the recent posts here, it's now requiring multiple attempts to get a video to play successfully. It's usually just stalling/timing out at the 'retrieving' screen, but on Saturday it would eventually work if tried a few times. Sunday evening, even if it eventually starts to play, it appears it can't keep up the stream and will fail within a couple of minutes.

I know CR had some intermittent issues with the previous CDN, but this new one seems very unreliable from what I've seen since Wednesday.

I've really enjoyed watching CR on Roku and hope this can be restored very soon.

It is happening right now: 7:24PM CST 02-13-2011. Trying to watch Steel Angel Kurumi. Episode 6 took 3 attempts, 7 took 4, and I am on the 5th attempt for episode 8.

Unlike others here, once they load and start to play, I have no issue with the episode. It's just getting it to load that is the problem.

Hello CR Mods and Techs,

I was so happy to see Crunchy Roll on Roku. I have a few comments/questions.

1. There seems to be no Japanese drama. Can we expect some in the future?

2. Categories (Japanese / Chinese / Korean / Historical / Comedy etc) are empty. Will they be operable soon?

3. Most important to me: Will the Roku synopses indicate if an entire series is available on Roku, or will we have to visit the CR site each time to determine this? Example: I started watching Painter of the Wind and got totally hooked. Imagine my disappointment to find out I can only watch the reamining episodes if I become a premium member. It would be nice if you had a note to this effect somewhere.

Thanks, and I look forward to seeing this channel evolve for all members.

Hi Crunchyroll,

I too am still having problems. I have to try multiple attempts to load a video (new or old). I have 3 Roku Boxes 2 of the Classic XR Style and a newer XD model and have the same problems on all 3.

Valerian and Laureline episode 2 ,3 and 4 have the wrong titles on them there mixed up on the roku channel

plus same as everyone else i am having problems with the episodes loading it was the worst on sunday afternoon as it stopped working all together sunday night

It's intermittent. Guess I should go back and post some more technical details, but it appears no matter what the details there's a bigger problem overall with the CR app/web service?

As mentioned already, once the episode does load - no problems during playback, not one. It's just getting it to start that's the issue.

I've uploaded a preview of what's happening here if that helps at all - I'm sure most people have seen it themselves. This video should also confirm that if it's not working for someone it's not necessarily all the Anime's don't work. Just some specific ones. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iXFZLEZOI4c)

For others posting the problem, if it turns out to not be every Anime series it may help to post which Anime and episode is not working (as I'm sure has already been requested by mods, and I will go back and do myself).

Argh! When it happens, it seems to be across the board. I was able to load and play a variety of episodes earlier, but now the thing is balky for everything, getting progressively worse since around 6:30PM CST. Now it just does not want to load anything. It took 6 tries to load Moribito Episode 2, and I am about to give up on 3. Again, once it loads, no issues...this really looks like some kind of a load issue or throttling. :(

Spent the day at home sick today, and can give a bit more insight into the issue. I take back what I said about load or throttling, unless it happens all the time. The episodes take longer to load then they used to, and may be hitting a timeout at Roku or CR. Sometimes they just start to load when the play screen comes back. Today, I have been able to watch many episodes, but all have loaded slowly, and many have timed out and needed to be loaded again. Hope it helps.

Pink Lipstick is missing several. it goes 1-17 then skips up to 30 some in the 70's are gone too as well as the 100's
Its ok though we know you are working so hard to get it going and I am happy as can be.

There is a major issues with season one of "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya". The episode titles are in broadcast order but the actual episodes are in chronological order.

This means that when you select "Episode 5 - The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya III" from the menu the episode that actually plays is "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suyumiya V", choosing "Episode 6 - Remote Island Syndrome Part 1" gets you "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya VI", choosing "Episode 7 - Mysterique Sign" plays "The Boredom of Haruhi Suzumiya" and so on.

The android phone app has the same issue. It makes it incredibly difficult to watch the episodes in broadcast order.

they just need to switch back to the host they where using when they first started supporting roku.
or find another host cause this one is sucking.
ive noticed it starts around 7:30 est and around 9:00 it is almost unbearable unless someone has noticed during the middle of the day it happening after they stream 5 or more in a row that is happening no matter what time?

can we got some sortive of response on what is happening and if you know what is causing this?
