look at all the crunchyroll's simulcast of this season, my post aims at 70% of them.

This is a sad time to witness. The entertainment we love will likely change forever, and there might not be anything we can do about it. Next they might completely ban all production of animation in Japan except a few harmless shorts made for commercials and other things. The whole concept of cartooning may even be wiped out forever.

If the worst happens, I will personally collect everything anime and manga related I desire so I can cherish the fond memories.

That's what I already started to do, collecting mangas and complete series, and pass it from generation saying "this once was my childhood". But yeah, as I stated above, other than this sudden epic huge ecchi movement that is overtaking all real meaning of epic animes as they once were in the 90s and in the begining of 2000, I don't recall seeing any heartbreaking anime since 2004~2005 but that's my opinion. Maybe that if it wasn't for that huge ecchi movement the anime wouldn't have been targeted as much and we'd still be able to enjoy it.

I think it needs to be clarified that the bill did pass a first round of voting on Monday and does need to pass a second round of voting Wednesday before its actually passed.

No indication that it was a close vote on Monday and most over looked this needed second vote.

Its also important to note this is NOT a Japan national bill/ban but a Tokyo government one. But Tokyo is like LA/Chicago/New York combined so their regional government is quite powerful. It should also be noted that the Japanese Prime Minister has basically come out against this revised bill.

I lack of information myself on this case, glad to see that the community can keep us up to date, but hopefully things doesn't get bad. We're not talking about something minor, but more about a tradition, a trademark, a lifestyle, a liberty of expression... The bill seems to be overexagerating, I don't mind the ecchi part but too many things were added.

Japanese Legislators are asking a death wish or something... Meh, this is an internal affairs so it is none of our concern.

ecchi has been a part of anime for years though didn't you ever watch ranma 1 1/2 or Nadia of blue water or just anime from the 80's in general, those where chalked full of full frontal nudity, this is nothing new if your referring to the settings have changed then yes they have but the for the most part nudity has not. Hell even beserker had it's moments of tna but yeah... I am not going to worry anymore Just buy up what I want, download what I can and sit back and enjoy all of my favorite series. Fyi I love your avi akira is one of the greatest anime movies ever made.

It is indeed, and sadly, the bill has passed, but this was a regional ban, not a national, but still Tokyo was the mothership of animes/mangas as we know it. All there is left to do is to hope that this will be reconcidered over time.

Well akiba in Tokyo might suffer, but DenDen town in Osaka gets a new shot at least

I wonder if, what was already concidered adult contents will be banned still? Not talking about H contents but manga that were already meant for an older audience from the begining. As far as I recall, all of my Berserk and GantZ manga has the parental advisory sticker on them and says 18 or older. They better don't touch that else there'll be nothing good left to read...
