Down some cheap-ass liquor to get me going, and finish off with some cognac.

Nothin'. I'm an atheist, so I don't celebrate Christmas. That means I don't have to give anyone presents!

I hafta first share that we LOVE to celebrate and enjoy just about any holiday that appears on the calendar~LOL! For Christmas, we start with daily Advent devotions to prepare our hearts for celebrating Christ's birth and all it means to us. Our artist studies through the season this year were from the holiday pics of Arthur Hughes and a bit of Norman Rockwell. We usually listen to Tchaikovsky and Handel as our composer studies through the season and use the Christmas hymns with our devotions. We LOVE to read and read LOTS and LOTS of books!!!! Even though my children don't believe in Santa, we do laugh at some silly Santa stories and classics, as well as other picture books. We try to make a few crafts. We always walk a mile-and-a-half each way to a lighting, we pick a night to drive around and look at lights on houses, and this year we walked to the symphony, philharmonic, and dramatic reading of Dickens' A Christmas Carol. We also put up a small tree full of homemade ornaments and a few lights outside. We enjoy this calendar every year, too: http://www.teachingmom.com/features/advent.html .

Christmas day the children get up and into their stockings first~they will be filled with candy, fruit, and chips. Then we have breakfast and finish out our Advent devotion, followed by reading the account of Christ's birth from the Gospel of Luke. They can open presents after that and get one present each from us, as well as a few from family/friends. We love a simple Christmas~some of the gifts this year are a Tae Kwon Do uniform, violin strings, etc. Sometimes we'll have an unexpected visitor show up, and sometimes it will just be us.

*I think* that's about it... *HAPPY HOLY DAYS!* ~smile~ (((((HUGS))))) sandi

Do what I do every year...Christmas Eve is spent with my fathers side of the family, which is quite large, at my aunts house. We all open presents, eat, watch a Christmas Story 100 times and drink ourselves into a drunken stupor...lol. On Christmas Day my brothers and I go over to our moms house open presents and eat, then we go over to our fathers house and do the same thing again.

I don't know. But I hope I'm home for Christmas. I am SO not in the mood to go out. Just stay home, eat, relax and sleep.

I honestly want to (and plan to) sleep from the 17ths night to the 20ths morning. I NEED to rest. Christmas Assignments and gift buying and making and wrapping and cooking and preparing and decorating...UGH!

Men got it easy. Some liquor and they're set
