On another note:

Amon is a hypocrite! He is a bender he's an energy bender. Bending is bending, it may not be an element but bending energy still counts

This is a great series but i just wish that korra looked a bit more feminine, I think it's mostly her outfit. Also the pro bending matches are a bit wimpy - needs to be more epic.

actually avatars do have long life spans but according to Wikipedia the avatar state puts tremendous strain on the user. ang froze himself in the avatar state for 100 years so that shortened his life span by alot.

I found that wiki posting, but it's speculation as it was not revealed in either series so far.

http://avatar.wikia.com/wiki/Avatar

Wiki entry regarding the matter of the avatar's lifespan
"Another downside to the Avatar State is the considerable mental strain it can cause to less experienced Avatars. Prior to his tutelage under the Guru Pathik, Aang would often leave the Avatar State feeling horrified at what he'd done under its influence. Further use of the state, at least in extraordinary circumstances, can place such a large physical strain on an Avatar's body that their life-span can be affected; as such, Aang's hundred years in the iceberg contributed greatly to his eventual death at sixty-six years of age (biologically). "

This article does not say that the avatar has an unnaturally long lifespan. Aang's stent in the iceberg is closer to suspended animation than simply counting those years against him. It simply points to that one incident "boy in an iceberg" may have strained his body using the avatar state's powers before he was a fully realized avatar, or knew a second element for that matter. This was probably added later to explain why Aang died at the age of 66 when The Legend of Korra began. Who knows, but what is fact is that it the show itself does not reveal as to why Aang died. Konietzko quote in the wall street journal interview below just throws it out there, I'm not sure he's believes what he was saying.

I found this forum linked below. It even has a poll results as to how Aang died. This forum thread is pure speculation.

Avatar kiyoshi lived to 230 years old so there is a good chance most avatars live long than normal lifespan. the only other age til death know for an avatar is roku who was KIA at age 70.

Did anyone notice in episode 4 where they voted for the task force and the same evening Amon hits the pirate radio to say they branded him the number 1 threat? How did he find out how the vote went, and what the meeting was about? There were a few hours (maybe, the passage of time isn't clear) between the vote and Amon announcing it on the radio, but how did he find out? Was the decision announced on the radio after a private meeting?

The epis I've seen, look good. Same art style and feel to it as the original Air bender series, but I'm a little disappointed that the youngest members of the team died off. Aang and Toff were one of the youngest in the team, although Ang is only "young" because he encased himself in ice. I felt sad everyone died but I look forward to see how the new avatar handles herself. "I'm the Avatar! Deal with it!" lol

Didn't enjoy episode 5 as much. I'm not very fond of romantic sub-plots laid out for you as early as now. I wish they explored the global plot (which very interesting, the reason why I got hooked in the first place) and saved the love chase when the darker times come. I knew the Korra-Mako pairing was obvious, but I don't feel any attachment or excitement since they're too direct. Plus their pairing is a trope that has been done already. Cocky, jerky guy? That alone spells it out. I'm sad because a brother love-triangle could have worked way better than this, if Byrke used it properly.

Hopefully this put that relationship angle at it's worst point so they won't need to revisit it again in the future. Of course it doesn't mean there won't be hook ups, but the worst of this may be over in episode 5.

episode 5...
yeh the comedy was fun and all but it was super duper fast-paced.
and i didnt expect romance was an excuse for the reason of stereotypical scene where teamwork is gone in a tournament.

....
not the best episode
