Today's episode redeemed a lot of what was lacking in last week's episode. Past relationships were revealed, classic hilarious lines were told
was epic. More adult real life themes were included into the finals match between the wolf-bats and the fire ferrets and how the refs called the match was questionable. The equalists terrorist style attacks are far more brazen and destructive. I must admit that I think there may be a double agent working for the equalists.

Look forward to some really nice fight scenes, and if you've already seen it what did you think?

U cant expect every episode to be like this and u cant expect every episode to be all action...the creators themselves said that romance will be a major sub plot in the series considering the main teenager is 17 years old girl...i'm betting ep 7 will be like ep 4 ...more about the characters and not the action.....and i hope that every episode doesn't turn to be all action....action is just fan service anyway...i'm more interested about the characters.....

A girl kicking ass is great, but it is not my forte to have a fighting girl as the main character.

Strong female leads, especially the fighting type, are some of the best when done right, Birdy Cephon Altera is a nice example.

Amon needs that fear, he needs Benders to think that once he has them it's over. Remember when Aang took out the Firelord there was a battle of Spirit, one Aang almost lost.

He needs his victims broken and terrified before he takes their bending or the whole thing could blow up in his face. I think that is the real reason he won't try and take Korra's bending yet. She'll fight back and he thinks he'd loose.

He wants her totally broken before he'll risk trying.

I agree. Well written, strong female leads make for excellent characters. I believe Korra is one (and so is Birdy!)

I actually like the idea that the Avatar in this series is female due to I think I can relate to the character more than i did with Aang in the first series I really think this series is gonna be awesome just like the first one and I do like the fact there is also more of a romance aspect to it and not just action in every episode. I also think there is more to Amon then he is letting on I wouldn't be surprised if it turns out hes a bender too or something lol.

So far, I'm enjoying it and already have a crush on Bolin. I love the fact that the main character is female as I can relate better and, honestly, guys need to step aside from time to time. Girls can be kick ass too if given the chance and good writer. It's nice to know that there are some creators that knows a girl can't always be a damsel in distress.

Lin Bei Fong + Korra tag team.

still, i want them to do more of air training. it's so relaxing.
the thing i like more in the first series is that it's more adventurous.

yep and that line

edit
i have to note that i really, really love the action scenes.
and Tenzin's character is amazing.
and i like it how Korra sees the past, instead of connecting with Aang through spirit world

Episode 6 shows adult Aang and Toph.

This is the best animated show in the world right now.

well said, and excellent example. Birdy the mighty: decode is a great show. (I have not seen the original OAV)

this is a bit off topic of the current conversation, but in terms of character design I was talking with a friend and he also agreed.

Korra is pretty muscular.

Not in a bad way, not in a manly way, just she looks like she'd be one tough cookie in a street fight sans bending.

When a lot of animated female leads (even the strong ones) get a bit of an unrealistic, overly-sexified body (birdy is SLIGHTLY guilty of this, although they don't shove tons of fan service down your throat every chance they get) it can kind of detract from a strong personality.

yes its nickelodeon, but regardless.

being fit does not always mean having giant boobs or an extremely tiny waist.

The creators said that giving Korra more heft and muscle make it more realistic for her beating mostly men opponents. There is a lot of contact with bending. They also made her substantially stronger than normal human (she lifted Tenzen family with a hug and she threw a guy thru a window).

As of right now she is not the level of Aang yet (she can't airbend and lacks spirituality) and needs more training .
