Japanese for me it's the kanji, I can write it pretty well but remembering it is hard and for Chinese i would have to say the pronunciation.

Memorizing Kanji is the most difficult part of learning Japanese for me. But I'm not too focused on it either, as I'd rather get fully fluent with the spoken portion first.

I also find that some native speakers will casually speak at extremely high speeds, making me miss everything that is said. Learning colloquialisms is also pretty difficult, I don't yet know a good way to approach learning them.

Vocabulary, pronunciation, and overall logic have been fairly easy to pick up.

I think for both Japanese and Chinese I find the dialects confusing. The dialect from Kyuushuu = >.<

Kanji, it's too difficult, there is a plenty of them, that's why i can't learn Japanese fully.

I really don't find the tones in chinese challenging at all, I just can't read some of the letters and I can only write a very limited number of words. I remember when I was still in chinese school and we had to compose sentences out of a new vocab or something and I would always write something about eating or sleeping

Chinese - Pronunciation
Japanese - The fact that each character probably has more than one meaning/way of pronouncing it.

Since I'm Chinese, I don't have any problems with it...

I'm learning Japanese, to me, the most annoying thing is the Japanese pronunciation of Kanji

Pronouncing Japanese words is the easy part, writing it.. not so much. I only know the basics though, like pencil, eraser, blah blah. I took a mandatory Japanese class in my old school. It was run by Japanese nuns. :DD

Learning all the katakana. Then realising I should learn hiragana as well. Then finally giving up when it comes to kanji. And pronounciation is a bitch.

Everything. Japanese is kinda okay to hear since I've seen subbed anime for like 6 years now, but Chinese? It's alien to me.
