Recently, myself.

I hate relationships after my last one and after a close friend of mine betrayed me. They are a huge hassle and I don't think I'm cut out for one.

But there is this girl who I've been friends with for almost three years now....

I think I may have a crush on her, no I'm pretty sure I do. I hate it when I like someone. People do stupid things when they like someone. I hate it when I don't feel in control of myself. I also feel bad for liking her since I hate relationships, but if I do get with her, I don't want to be a bad boyfriend and do a half-assed job of being one. I used to talk to her every other day on the phone for the past year-and-a-half or so, but I stopped for about two months ago when I thought it'd be best for me to get over her without letting her know.

On Thanksgiving, she called me and said she missed me since I hadn't talked to her for so long, so I should go have lunch with her. How could I say no to that?

Since then, we've been hanging out a lot and I've resumed calling, and I realized how bad it was for me to just try to ignore someone that I'm so comfortable and close with. In fact, we're going out for coffee again tomorrow . Well, she has been dating someone for a few weeks right now, but is not in a relationship, yet I feel an urge to confess to her next week during a sleepover. I feel like a jerk for having this desire, since it might be unfair for the guy she's dating.

If she tells me she doesn't like me, I know I'll be sad and I have no idea how I will react. If she tells me she does, I'll feel bad too. Oh, what to do....? I think as my close friend, she has a right to know that I like her, at the very least. I don't want to lose her as a friend, but at the same time, I feel a need to tell her.
