Thanks CR! I've been a member since Feb 10 and I absolutely love your service. Now that you have a android app, that makes me even more of a happy customer. BTW it works well on my Droid X. But since I'm on my laptop...I'll proceed to watch my shows...no offense Droid x.

Works beautifully on my OG Droid 1 running Cyanogenmod 6.1.1. 3G and Wifi Streaming are perfect!

Works just the same on my AT&T and T-mobile nexus ones, also running CM6.1.1.

When I get my G2 soon, I'll test there too, before and after CM6.1.1.

Doesn't work on my cheap chinese ZT-180 android tablet, but I havn't installed the froyo beta firmware for it yet.

Good work, Shinji! I've been waiting for a good android app for a while, m.crunchyroll.com kind of lags on my OG Droid, the app works perfect!

It looks good, but since I'm not a premium member, I can't do very much with it right now. From what I see, there isn't access to parts of our accounts like the watch list. Since that's usually where I go (on the web site) when I want to watch simulcasts, it would be nice to be able to do the same on the Android app. I look forward to this being opened to all Crunchyroll viewers.

I think the app should be for premium members only. That really adds value to the membership. We pay good money for commercial free and for instant access to the latest shows why, not have another bonus to membership.

Dude chill. Its nice to have an actual app for the platform. I know when I tried to use the m.crunchyroll.com site I couldn't go full screen with flash 10.1 on my Incredible. I had to zoom on the minimized video and even then it would cause the sides to cut off. Also the video didn't always play right. Sometimes a screen would get stuck but the audio kept playing. These problems aren't present when running the app now. So if Windows Phone 7 is anything like it was on my android phone then I don't see the harm in asking for an app.

There's an easier way to watch Flash in full-screen on Android: Long press the flash video/content and select the full-screen button. Playing a SD video from the normal crunchyrol.com, it'll be similar video-quality as the app. Full-screening from m.crunchyroll.com, there will be borders around the whole video so use the normal site. Also make sure to turn your plugins to not start automatically in the browser settings so there's less resource drain. Of course, this doesn't matter much since we now have a CR app, but this works on all flash content too. =)

Anyway, I did some testing on my HTC EVO 4G running 2.2. The app is snappy and easy to use. My favorite type of app. ^_^ I was honestly surprised by how fast everything loaded from this Alpha build. It's even faster than the mobile site and with a more features!

Bugs:

-When I pause the video and the phone goes to sleep. The audio would suddenly start playing from the beginning of the show. When I unlock the screen, the show would restart from the beginning.

-The show also restarts from the beginning if I lock and unlock the screen. I would like it if the show resumes from when I locked the screen.

Thanks for listening Crunchyroll and thanks for this early Xmas present! Can't wait until Google releases their tablet-version of Android for people who don't watch shows on small screens. =D

Any chance for a Windows Phone 7 app?

Why do you guys always do this.

When Crunchyroll got an IPhone app you guys said get a Android App now when they get an Android app you say get a Windows 7 App

Same thing with Boxee when they got boxee you said get Roku when they got Roku you say get a Apple TV and Google TV App.

Once they get a windows 7 app people are going to say get a Blackberry app then people are going to say get a Nokia App.

It is never going to stop. I mean really can't you just use you're computer with a HDMI to your TV or can't you use M.Crunchyroll.com?

Use M.crunchyroll.com if you have flash it will work on your phone.

Crunchyroll puts a lot of time, effort and money into making these apps yet you guys don't have any gratitude a bunch of comments said finally that is so rude, since it is hard to make an android video app really hard. Hulu and Netflix are 50 times more popular then crunchyroll but they don't have an android app and neither of them are available outside of the US.

And as far as the computer+HDMI+TV goes you can't carry your PC and TV everywhere you go. Me personally I use that setup at my house but if I am not there I am going to use the app.

btw the Hulu example you gave doesn't really stand since they block Android phones from viewing content. They will be making an app for Android, but it will be for Hulu Plus which you have to pay for.

This dude just said it all. Kudos

lol it just crashed my droid X when trying to skip an intro. seems much better than watching CR through the browser though. Resolution is a bit low for the X also, but the ease of use makes up for it. hopefully it will become more stable in the future.

I stand corrected. I was able to go full screen with the full site instead of mobile. However, when I went full screen the video would stop. No it wasn't paused, I checked that, It just would stop playing. If I took it off full screen it would start again. weird

But all of it is really doesn't matter since we have the app now.
