Well, I also was a "Rocker" for a long time but now I am into something between Grunge and Metal. Rock is cool, but tha artist have been mainstream for too long and they think too much of themselves.

Wow. Posers will flock to this thread.

OMG11!"12 IM LYK SuUuU Sc3n3. 3y3 gueSs thts theee samez <334

I like good music. Pure and simple. If that makes me whatever you want to label me, so be it.
I went into a whole long rant about this, but I got rid of it. Don't want to make a tldr.

Well let them then it' difficult to tell if their just pretending but if that's what they like then let them doesn't make any difference to me. As long as people like the music I'm happy. Plus I wasn't labelling people I asking if they thought they would fall under the label. Plus people label all the time it's impossible to get away from it, it's human nature everything needs a name and a way to define it so I just go with it

Now more relevant my flat mate has got tickets to see Motorhead I'm so jealous

I really like rock music but not the heavy metal rock ones,...just the ordinary rock like green day, simple plan, my chemical romance etc. and i agree that music is evolving but i don't want the world to forget about rock music........

I'm not really a rocker, most of the stuff I like is labelled 'aleternative rock',like Raspuitina(electric cellos),blood red shoes.arcade fire and florence and the machine.Or 'pop rock' like Blondie and Franz ferdinand.Though I like ACDC.

Also a lot of rock bands to me sound pretty dull and quite similiar like you me at six,MCR or all time low etc etc

I do like concerts and festivals too but I don't have the money.

So wait..
You're saying a true "rocker" gets drunk and "messes around", but tattoos and piercings are blown up..
You should really think about that...Tattoos are seen as an art, to express your individuality....The type of music you listen to expresses you who are as well...The two have a good relation..
Getting drunk...What the hell does that say..
Unless being a rocker is just another typical label that means: Going to concerts; getting wasted; "messing around"...No wonder it's dying..

In my honest opinion, those who have tattoos; go to concerts actually appreciate the art form of the music they listen too...Rather than going to a show to get drunk.
You can place a label on who you believe you are, but all labels eventually die. Who you are, never does.

No I am not I am saying a true rocker is a person who uses the music they love to have fun . I know people who listen to rock say they like it but never want to go places that actually play it on a night unless it's a festival and then it's just for the festival experience. I said getting drunk as that's what I find fun but it can be whatever floats your boat. I just hate people who openly show they like rock over all the clubbing stuff which is now becoming the "cool" thing to listen. It's all backwards it used to be the opposite way round

Also who here has listened to the new Foo Fighters album yet? I've listened to it 3 times already and I love it These Days isn't heavy but is good and the intro to Bridge Burning is plain epic

I'm an old school rocker!! Cheap Trick, Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, The Cars, The Doors, The Sweet, Queen, Blue Oyster Cult, you got it. I don't go to concerts because I can't afford them and don't have any sweet hookups (Napoleon Dynamite moment.) BUT - I would if I could and I would love it.

I'm also into some of today's stuff. Not all of our music sucks - check out this song by Cut in the Hill Gang:

Just gotta know where to look I heard that in Motor Storm on PlayStation Home.
