I just can't possibly imagine them being able to re-use the lightning shock joke over another 40+episodes. I think it'd be more physically painful for the viewer at that point.

I've been reading the manga and happily after the fight with Tojo the series becomes mostly Shonen Battle Manga. The electrobaby joke hasn't been used for a while.

Right now they are in the "Training to become stronger after getting asskicked" phase.

But while the training stuff is going on we are getting some fun with the minor characters who are playing a video game against the "official" leaders of the Enemy faction.

My only concern as of now is whether or not Japan recovers in time for the spring shows to air as scheduled, winter schedule is getting messed up at the moment. I know this sounds selfish but its been bothering me.

People tend to say things like "How can you think about such a thing at a time like this?", because they react emotionally. Does thinking about or discussing such things do harm or prevent aid to those who need it?

Anime is a business, so I expect they will get back to it as soon as is practical. I expect the biggest delays will not be caused by production issues, but rather pre-empting of programming for news coverage. Early AM shows will no doubt see the shortest impact from this, and will likely be the first to start airing again. Shows that air in prime time will likely see the longest delays before returning to air.

In a worst case scenario, we might see the premiere of some Spring shows delayed by a week or two, and an episode might be trimmed to get the schedule back on track for Summer. That said, I really do not expect that to happen. A lot of series are 12 episodes, despite each season being 13 weeks, so that gives some play in the schedule Whatever special was scheduled to fill in that gap could be bumped.

Funimation has yet to announce any delays to their simulcasts, and One Piece goes up tonight, followed by two other series on Monday (although if those are on a week delay, they would not be impacted until next week).

EDIT:
The One Piece simulcast will be delayed after all. I can't say I am surprised by that. As the article notes, it will likely be pre-empted in Japan for news coverage.

Yes I think that it depends on the television station, for example Index aired yesterday while Gosick and numerous others did not. Worst comes to worst there'll be DVD box sets if they cut down on episodes during the original run. We'll just have to wait and see, I suppose.

I agree with what your saying, but I wouldn't be too surprised to see a couple of series pushed back to the Summer season... Especially some that were already struggling with production (ie Maria Holic).

well some series like sket dance and blue exorcist have alot of time and effort into them as seen by the shorts on thw website of dance since sems like tsukono cares aslot about it and blue exorcist with the all star cast for a-1 pictures but im mostly worried about the people in japan and all teh lvies that have been lost

Depending on the times of the day that they hit, these rolling blackouts may be more destructive to the anime industry (specifically the Spring and even Summer seasons) than the Earthquake itself...

Also, pretty much the last of the big name long running series OP/EDs are out (besides Gintama, but that's not a long ongoing anymore :/)

Bleach
-OP14: ViViD - TBA
-ED27: fumika - TBA

One Piece
-OP14: Namie Amuro - Fight Together

So, Moshidora is being re-scheduled due to the earthquake. I honestly would not mind many shows being moved to the Summer block, which is where I presume Moshidora will be moved to.

I doubt Moshidora has been moved to Summer. It's only 10 episodes to be aired over a 2 week period, and they're most likely all finished and ready to be aired (or very close to it). The reason for the delay is because NHK is primarily a news channel, and there's plenty of Earthquake etc news atm. More accurately, news is the only thing NHK-G is covering now.

I'd think that the only problem for Moshidora would be finding an appropriate time slot, but given the novel's massive sales I don't think that would be too hard. I wouldn't be all that surprised if it started airing next week if earthquake related news starts dieing down.

That being said, there would probably be concerns for other shows (as I've said in above posts).

I am looking forward to watch:

- Ao no Exorcist
- Deadman Wonderland
- Hana-Saku Iroha
- Steins; Gate

Ao no Exorcist gives me the impression of something similar to D.Gray-man ... hope it's good. XD
